MSFS2024, Asobo B737-MAX - Various items

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
Hi.

I just took a normal flight with the Asobo B737-MAX. There are a lot of issues with this aircraft, but I would like to mention a few items that if corrected it would make some improvement to the experience with the MAX imo.

The relay switching sound when selecting different electrical sources is absent most of the time. Ex. when putting GPU or GEN online.

When you turn on the battery, all screens are immediately turned on. It seems battery alone can power everything.

Both hydraulic reservoirs are at Refill-level. (No go item).

GPU light did not extinguish when GPU was disconnected.

Engine start is not correct, and motoring happens at wrong N2 and too fast. Engine start to off happens at wrong N2 value. You should verify all engine parameters for all stages.

Thrust on ground, while taxing, seems too weak for the MAX.

APU Gen Bus light logic is wrong after engine starts. When GEN1 and GEN2 are online, the APU light is extinguished even if it is running.

DUCT Pressure needles move too fast or almost instantly.

BLEED Trip to easy to trigger.

WING Anti-Ice did not move off automatic during T/O.

VSD was not working.

At STD flight level I could not preselect the destination QNH. It would only move between 1013-1014qnh

WXR/TERR are not displayed correctly.

Deacceleration segments on map are not displayed.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
Yes

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it?
NO

[PC Only] What GPU (Graphics Card) do you use?
RTX4080Super

Hey, did you also have any issues passing values from EFB into avionics? I found that LNAV and VNAV were not working well for me but I am very new to this just trying to work on my fears so trying to automate a flight as much as possible

I did not try. I entered everything manually. VNAV and LNAV worked for the flight i did, but i did not do any special testing. I flew a SID, short CRZ segment and a STAR and an ILS.

Do you have any key advice for automating the flight? I build my plan in the online flight planner, and ensure the approaches are good but I tend to have it after take off struggle to follow the route. Should it always be direct waypoint to waypoint?

The systems are complex, and it will take some time to learn how to use them correctly. There are probably some YouTube videos you can search for too. But I have a few tips.

What you put into the FMS or CDU is very important. Verify on legs page that everything is correct. There must not be any empty fields between the waypoints. This can often happen when inserting a SID or STAR. The aircraft will fly waypoint-to-waypoint from the LEGS page.

On the ground, activate both flight directors on the autopilot when you are finished programming the cdu. Activate the left side first. You can pre-arm both LNAV and VNAV while on ground. When engaging the autopilot after take-off use CMD A (Left side). (B is for FO side and BOTH are used in CAT2/3 auto landing).

Remember that the altitude you set in the autopilot restricts VNAV. Ex. If you have CRZ at FL260 and put 7000ft in the autopilot the aircraft will level off at 7000ft. For higher turn up the altitude and press ALT INTV button.

When descending you must turn down the altitude before top of decend (TOD marked on the magenta line). If not, it will not start descending. If you want to start descending in VNAV mode before TOD then turn down altitude and press ALT INTV. It will then starts descending slowly at aprox 1000ft until it catches the path.

Remember that the active modes are displayed in the PFD, above the horizon. Always verify correct modes.

No problem. Is the MAX 1st party content? I am not abel to tag it when reporting a bug?

My first and only flight so far had the follwing issues:

  • no lights worked (taxi, runway, landing, to, strobe…)

  • when I rotated it behaved like a paper plane. It pitched up so quickly it was surreal. I brought the sensitivity of the flightstick to the min, but it didn’t change. It was such a disaster I couldn’t land it as it was uncontrollable. Plus, the hardware settings of the stick seems to copy to all configurations, changing all my manouverability of the other planes.

  • the EFB copied only the route. No weight, no perf init, no flight number etc.

  • when in idle, the plane was speeding up and was uncontrollable during taxi. I had to taxi with my feed constantly at 50% breaking.

Finally a question: during approach, I saw the autopilot engaging both (cpt and fo). Is that something automatic or is it a bug? (I did not see any display confirmation of a DUAL mode AP)

That is a bug.

Yes, unlike a lot of aircraft, the Max was not commissioned to be built by a third party, it was actually developed by MSFS for MSFS 2024.
The 737 tag that you used is sufficient.

Thank you so much! I did watch a video the ALT INTV button was not mentioned and that really helped. I can basically get right to approach now so its all about sticking the landiing

• There is no external lighting.

I used the B737 MAX in career mode. After a while all screens went black and no interaction possible anymore. I tried a few times but always the same. I had to cancel the mission.
Now I decided to stop using MSFS2024 as there are still so many bugs that caused to much frustration to me

Go to your main menu, choose free flight. Go to the left upper corner to your max…Then click down left corner configure. Choose livery…and down Passengers and take another livery (Air Infinity). This one gives your landinglights, runway lights etc…

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

YES agree with all of that.

• Also too nose down on take off (despite nose up trim) and horribly nose up when disconnecting a/p on final. Hard to trim out.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

737 Max ILS did not work for me. I loaded a flight plan from PC and LNAV followed it nicely all the way to the beginning of the final where we should pick up the ILS. During the flight I also tried VNAV and although altitudes were all in the flight plan, the VNAV button had no effect. Possibly I need to set target altitudes correctly to make VNAV work.

About the ILS: I had the approach in flight plan, I was on the path to the runway at the right altitude and had the map display set to APP, and pressed the APP button on the AP. But never saw any of the usual ILS indicators on the PFD. Is this expected to be different than the indicators on other airliners?

So I started a go-around but had great difficulty controlling the pitch. It seemed something changed since the take-off climb. Pitch way too sensitive while at the same time being slow to respond.

One thing I am confused about is the map display the way it does not keep centered on the aircraft as you fly throught the waypoints. It only jumps so the map centers on the next waypoint. So you may have to go to a bigger map scale if you want to keep the aircraft position in view. And if you wandered away from your flight plan, is there any way to center the display on your aircraft so you could use it to navigate manually?

Same here. And many more bugs

The flight model is a mess

you guys have working LNAV?

If you happen to have Navigraph AIRAC Cycle 2501 Rev.1 Beta installed then LNAV won’t work on the Asobo 737 Max, I haven’t had a chance to see if Rev.2 Beta works.

I just had somekind of update to them sim which fixed the LNAV issue, as it is working now with the newest AIRAC from Navigraph, buuuuut…

Oh boy do I love this buts from Asobo, it reseted my SIM, so I had to setup all my commands again, well thank (FYOU) Asobo and Microsoft
