Comments on the Inibuilds/MS version 7.8.0 on Xbox X SU5 Beta 1.7.10.0.
I also get the tail rotor dead zone mentioned above. The tail rotor is also way too sensitive. Even in cruise above 60 knots the nose can be yawed excessively. This shouldn’t be possible with the aerodynamic forces from the horizontal stabilizer end plates and the vertical fin to overcome.
I’m hoping this is just phase 1 of the updates for this a/c during SU5 Beta as I don’t think it’s ready for prime time in its current state. Good progress has been made though.
Some of the issues:
- Engine can only be started from cold and dark after doing one start with CTRL-E and shutting down again by closing the fuel valve. Can also do a quick Ctrl-E followed immediately by Shift Ctrl-E and then carry out a normal start.
- Throttle assigned to an axis works from 0 to 100% while the engine is shut down. With the engine running the tooltip shows a random effect, possibly simulating FADEC, but there’s no way to get to ground idle. There’s also no animation of the throttle.
- NR/NP RPM needles stay matched at all times, including during shut down.
- Fuel Pressure/Amps, MGT and NG gauges have a blue segment showing at all times. The other similar gauges look ok. Nice that they can now be read from the pilots position without leaning forward.
- Nice to see the doors can now be opened from outside. Unfortunately clicking on the RH Cabin door opens the LH cabin door. A second click then opens the LH door fully to the cargo/litter position. There’s no way to operate the doors from inside that I could find.
- Four fuel related caution lights on in flight regardless of the fuel boost pump switches.
- A loud fan noise as soon as the battery is turned on. Doesn’t react to any air conditioning switches. Luckily noise cancelling is available with the defog switch in the overhead panel.
- Nav and anti-col lights can’t be seen in daylight. No landing lights.
- The Garmin 430 is a welcome addition. I didn’t check the lighting at night though.
- EFB doesn’t allow for adding a copilot or altering the pilot’s weight. Five cabin passengers are adjustable though and visible with weights entered.
- All the livery thumb nails are the same.
- Various tooltips missing or misleading.

As I mentioned, I’m assuming this is still work in progress as we’ve had no release notes so far. Good progress so far though.
