[MSFS2024] Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner

This would already be enough for me, last time I checked in my max8 , there were 5 people. this is not a full plane but its much better then 5 people!!

One other thing Zadma, does the 787-10 has the same “ problem” with the weight and balance section in the FMC? I remember you telling me that section in the max8 was a bit leftover, never developed for the 2024, is that the same with the 787-10 or does it work how it should be ?

I would assume that, as a default 2024-native aircraft, it’s weights and balances and meant to be managed exclusively in the EFB.

Not sure but I have put this image up on driver-related posts but not here. Has to do with ghosting and lack of clarity of instruments that is improved by the new DLSS 4.5 NVIDIA driver. Here is a shot of the 787 instruments and the eye test is highlighted… the ILS parameters in very small font. I have a 5080.

is the 787-10 still so fps heavy after SU4 ?

Actually I think it is much better with the new NVIDIA driver and DLSS 4.5. Now I have a 5080 but I have a lot of FPS and VRAM headroom that improved with this update. That being said it seems a tossup for the 4000 series and maybe a negative for 3000 series cards. SU4 alone did not do much for me but the combo seems a winner. Again your milage may vary. [Clarity improvement is bigger than FPS].

thanks, 3090 here but VR with the Quest3. so DLSS i guess will not add much clarity. i find the 787 not so detailed anyway.

Yeah, I think the new DLSS will not help you much. I had a 3070ti and upgraded to the 5080 as a birthday gift.

The detail in the 787 that interests me is the ILS text that is in small font that I use as an eyechart for clarity.

tried the 787-x and fps is much better with SU4. no stutters. flyable again.
question, how do you guys get your METAR in this aircraft, as no AOC ATIS function is simulated in the FMC ?

Hi Boss,

Yes I confirm that the VNAV SPD sometimes doesn’t engage after Takeoff and that VNAV ALT or VNAV PATH modes doesen’t switch to GS MODE during Approach.

Regards

On my phone from https://runway.airportdb.io/ lol

Yes, a lot of confirmation of the AP issues. There is quite the shopping list of fixes for the 787. Hope they get to them, but it is still better than the 737 standard. Tried to fly that and the AP is hopeless.

and where inside the sim ? usually i get it from the aircraft itself but in this one its impossible. (or ATC of course)

You mean the Asobo 737max8 ? I really don’t encounter any problems with the auto pilot or also other things to be honest. It’s my go-to Boeing but maybe that’s because it’s the only one that flies nice ( I’m on standard edition ) , looks nice and can show passengers inside  ( on Xbox so can’t use gsx)

Only downside is ( credits to Zadma) the weight&balance section is not to be used.

Correct me if I am wrong but seemed does not have autoland and does not step down VNAV steps on approach automatically. Do not remember if it captured the glideslope from a VNAV profile. Think I was on Level Change.

The 787 AP has a later/side view map of the descent. This is just what I recall.

Does anyone have extremely bad A/T behavior on approach?

The 787 of MSFS2024 used to be really enjoyable to fly. Now, the throttle keeps going up and down and the aircraft can’t seem to properly capture the G/S.

Only the HorizonSim 787-9 actually flies well, for now, I think.

Yes, another known issue. My work around is the following:

  1. Make sure you are actually on the ILS/GS. It will not capture automatically from VNAV… I have seen some captures from LNAV alone. If need be copy in the RUNWAY into the TOP leg and Execute. Then you have to be sure to hit the APP button to get into approach mode. This forces you in.
  2. Now the rest is actual flying:
    1. Drop the gear as far away from the runways as possible. I intercept KSFO 28R at 4000’.
    2. Use 25 DEG Flaps not 30.
    3. Target airspeed 138-140 knots… works best for me with minimal float… lower speed more unstable (asking for a stall) and higher speed more stable but more float on runway
    4. This is known in the jargon as a stabilized approach. Stable trade off between drag (flaps) and thrust (throttle).

Here is my routine flight from RENO to SFO that is a good test of all aspects of the AP. The ARCHI STAR leads you right into the ILS on 28R at 4000’.

Autoland I really wouldn’t know, I never tried that.

Vnav , descent restrictions , approach etc all works for me. Lnav, vnav on , altitude to glideslope height and it descents in stages according to flightplan restrictions.

I hope they will fix the 787 issues.

As with other Asobo models, their aircraft have no weight. They respond to yoke inputs like an empty Cessna 172 with minimum fuel. Too twitchy.

That’s a sim issue
