The 787, and both the 747-400s look awful. I didn’t even bother trying to fly them.
They look from the outside much better in MFS2020, then 2024. Though the inside is better in 2024 version. I really wonder why. It almost looks like FXS from the outside.
Also, the navigation path is not working in the 787. Even if I program it manual. Really sad.
I decided to try this airplane. I am disappointed. It’s better to show. This is what I found within a first 5 minutes. In addition to this video I want to say that rudder, spoilers, elevator and ailerons animations are broken too.
I have had this exact same problem and I don’t know how to fix it either.
I can confirm all of these problems.
The animation for most (if not all) flight control surfaces have roughly the same problem as the rudder pedals, as seen in the video (Maxed out at 50% then returned to neutral at 100%).
The animation for Emergency Lights switch is reversed, as well.
Floor Lights switch is just weird.
The VNAV RVSM Step Climb seems to target MAX FL instead of working around the OPT FL. At least the fuel prediction is reasonable when the Step Climbs are followed through.
I’ve done a 9-hour flight with CI 45, and now the return leg with CI 15.
Having Wind forecast import (ideally from Simbrief) would be great. It feels a bit sketchy doing long-haul flights without Wind data, especially on Oceanic routes.
The RANGE CTR button is quite inconvenient to use, i.e. it’s inaccessible if the RANGE knob is “highlighted”. I’m expecting a similar click spot/area like the BAROSET STD button.
The FO panel is still wrong. In fact, the same WRONG panel is now with 737 Max.
I am no Xbox series X and the 787-10 in msfs2024 seems like a downgrade compared to 2020 787-10.
The new EFB recently added looks ridiculously small and is clipping through the side window. No gear tilt. Liveries all broken. No wingflex. Please fix this in the next update.
Only positive is the updated model and interior. The external textures still are broken, still no wingflex, and the sounds in the 787 and similarly the 747-8 are probably the worst sounds I have heard in a flight sim, please update them.
Yeah, this was my GoTo on 2020 for long hauls. See the photo below. Boeing got the wings right in this design and it worked in 2020.
I have contributed to a long thread here on VRAM issues using this as a test case.
The AP requires a lot of care and feeding. This was an issue in 2020 where I mostly flew the -8 version. ALL created flight plans need manual editing for discontinuities. If you do not know how to do this you are sunk. Ask if you want to know how… oh I will just tell you 1. click on the button left of the first waypoint below the discontinuity. 2. Then click on the one above… should copy in. 3. Then his the green Execute button lower right.
The GS capture is also tricky, suffice it to say come in low.
This is RJTT error. You cant taxi via this bridges - they are broken with invisible wall
Why my wingflex is not working?? Anyone else??
Anyone on the forums flying the Dreamliner since the patch? Apart from the external modeling issues discussed above, how are folks finding it for flying? I tried it for the first time in 24 this morning and found that it flew smoother than 2020 on Series X; but that the 2020 flight looked much better, scenery included. Of course, the lack of SimBrief downloading is a big time suck!
Any chance you guys can flip (via the mesh by cutting the clock area and moving it to the right) copilot PFD? It’s quick and painless change.
Dreamliner is one of the best default aircraft in 24 since patch 4 of last week! Anyone else flying it while waiting for the Airbus fixes?
I had upgraded the MSFS 2020 from Standard Version to Premium Deluxe Version. But in MSFS 2024, I need to enable it from ‘my library’, otherwise, there would be no 787. However, even if I enabled it, it seems like an old version of 787 (there is no cabin and simbrief is useful), is it a normal situation?
In 24, I have been using the web based flight planner to import my SimBrief FP as a text string. Then adding in the various weights + balance alone the way, in the sim. It is more steps and a bit cumbersome, but it works just fine with a little bit of patience for what they have done in 24.
I, too, would love to get back the ability to import wind data. I really don’t like losing features from the 2020 version.
But I am confused why my 787-10 version is not the new version, it is obviously different from the new 787 in MSFS2024
