After installing the first stub from either MS-store or Xbox launcher to a fresh hard drive (K:) the sim crash with a BSOD after approximately 15 sec with the start screen visible during start of the primary download, the crash happens when going from the small windowed to full screen. This happen each time I try. I have tried formatting the drive, updating all drivers, updating windows, resetting bios, updating bios and it still happens. So, the game is not installed, only the the initial stub. I have got 2 different BSOD stopcodes. “Bad pool caller” and “kernel mode heap corruption”. I have run sfc /scannow afterwards to remove any problems.
MSFS2020 runs without any problems from the C drive.
The PC is a ASUS TUF X670E +, AMD7800X3D, RTX4090 and 64 GB RAM, Windows version is win 11 23H2 all other programs runs without problems

I have been battling a similar CTD with FS2024 and FS2020 on my new setup for the last few days.
I’m getting the CTD just after the splashscreen going to fullscreen exactly as you described but only at the initial launch.
After being thrown back to the desktop the second start is always succesful in my case.
I’m doing more tests just to be sure but it seems I managed to fix it by manually setting my page file size in windows.
It was set to be dynamically managed by Windows (default setting).
It might be worth trying that out to see if that solves it for you as well!
By a coincidence I solved the problem myself late last night. It was the drivers for the harddisk controllers from AMD that caused the crash and BSOD. After uninstalling StoreMi and the AMD Adrenalin software (that control the drivers) I reinstalled the standard Windows 11 drivers for all hard drives and drive controllers (SATA AHCI controllers and more) and all installation problems are gone.
I got MSFS2024 up and running, just to find that all key bindings, Thrustmaster HOTAS settings and my MFG Crosswind pedals were not configured as in 2020, sigh… Its going to be a long tedious fight to get it all fixed. The graphics looked fine in Free Flight I must say, but all other seems to be a big pain.
