The really frustrating thing with this aircraft is that it flew really well in P3D, without any of these careless bugs. I hope Carenado is working on things behind the scene, and what we’re seeing is just a symptom of the obviously rushed release of MSFS2024. Unfortunately Carenado doesn’t have a stellar history when it comes to providing timely updates and bug fixes, so I’m not optimistic.
Well there is a way how to tune it:
Left mouse click on the inner knob and hold, then right mouse click and hold and then move mouse left or right.
Why? Just WHY?
There’s also a switch on the back of the throttle column you can use to turn on the AP.
Both the HSI and the two GPS panels are off by 90 degrees, My Magnetic compass is showing a true heading of north (Checked againts the Little navmap icon for the plane) but the hSI and GPS show a heading of 090, reloading the plane doesn’t reset it. besides the GPS should be accurate anyaw, not gyro drift on that, very strange and pretty awkward to fly for more than a short hop.
This is only since this morning, but I’m pretty sure it’s not the new update as that was only released about 3 hours ago here in the UK as far as I am aware. Could be wrong of course.
Please fix the obvious texture bugs with all 3 nose doors.
The pump hinges stay stationary and don’t open up:
All bugs and squawks aside, this is one of my favorite defaults in 24. Today I flew the C414AW in 2020 back to back with the 404 in 24 on the same flight plan, in the same live weather (except that the 404 flight was of course about an hour later than the 414 flight). The Chancellor is an exceptional add-on aircraft, meticulously modeled. The Titan is lesser but also fun for exactly what it is. And I like that it is modeled as well worn, even more so than the Chancellor.
To keep it within its limits in 24 today, and to stay VFR under a cloud deck, I only cruised the Titan at 5,500’ (the Chancellor got up to 9,500 but had to descend due to the ceiling midway through the flight). Two handcrafted airports, KRVL to KSWF, a brisk tailwind and a golden hour sunset on the Titan landing made for a delightful afternoon flight. The scenery in 24 along the way was a step up from 2020, that said, both flights were really quite beautiful to look at!
Points of difference interesting to note, but in no way affected the fun I had today. The 414AW has the GTN750 which has SimBrief integration, something I really enjoy. The 404 gets its flight plan from the web flight planner via the EFB. Both work but the former is more robust for IFR and the latter better suited to VFR until all the bugs are worked out and features deployed.
Just flew the C404. A beeping alarm went off as I got to 5000ft. I looked around for warning lights, master caution, etc. Saw nothing. Anybody have an idea what the alarm is? Prop pitch? Manifold pressure?
Likely MP. It’ll start squawking below 15 unless the gear is down.
is there still an issue with the electrical system. got low volts warning while in flight. and on my second leg i couldn’t start the engines cause battery was empty…
hi,
I have some bugs to report on this plane in msfs2024
Titan 404 - Bug Reporting Hub / Aircraft & Systems - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums
Has anyone had issues getting the AP’s NAV mode to track a VOR?
When I attempt to engage NAV, sometimes I see the annunciator briefly flash white, but it doesn’t engage and the AP blows right on by the radial.
I have no add-ons and an empty Community folder.
Hey, just landed in EWR from PHL, both add-ons, in the 404. While I did not test VOR, it did intercept and track the ILS 4R exceptionally well on A/P. I let it fly the approach down to about 1,000 AGL then took over. Will probably be doing some more 404 flights as I layer in some add on scenery. After 2 flights today since the patch, all seems to be working for me on Series X. Earlier I flew the Dreamliner from PSP to ABQ and apart from the lackluster view outside, was a solid flight. Very optimistic here today. Good flying!
I posted my issues with the AP tracking a VOR here:
Basically, the AP in NAV mode is linked only to NAV2 radio, even though the AP panel indicates NAV1 as a source. So no matter what you do, the AP reacts only to inputs from NAV2/OBS2.
We need to get this entered as a bug.
I can’t even get it started…
Haven’t flown the 404 in a while. Has the bug relating to the critical altitude been fixed yet? When I last flew it shortly after release of MSFS 2024, the critical altitude was essentially at sea level.
Yes you are right.
However at the current state of the sim (hundreds if not thousands of bugs) I feel that this will become just yet another bug report either pushed down the line or / and ignored entirely.
Refer to how many reported bugs are still outstanding (or not even acknowledged by the staff) for the MSFS 2020 version. I just do not believe we’d ever see them (or the new ones for that matter) addressed.
Sorry for my scepticism here but at this moment I have no trust in Asobo/MS capability to fix aircraft specific issues any time soon (even if properly logged; many of my bug reports are slowly collecting dust… for much longer than one year… but I do not have to explain that to you, do I? ).
I believe the best course of action would be to let the community access the files in FULL and let us fix the aircraft. Many of the issues reported in this thread (and in other aircraft specific threads) are quite easily fixable.
I hate that you are right, but you are.
I’m going to reveal where I am with the bugs at this point. I’m entering bug reports not because I believe they will do anything about them, but because I’m so angry with them for releasing this software this way that I’m entering bugs to rub their nose in it.
I want to make a public spectacle of it. I want there to be a huge public bug list documenting their stupid.
This is sloppiest release of a piece of software I’ve ever experienced. I do not care what the apologist, white knights say. I’ve never seen anything remotely close to having the volume of bugs and stupid errors as a result of a sloppy, rushed-out-the-door release in anything I’ve ever been a part of. That would include experiencing internal development stage builds during internal QA phases of a project’s evolution from a concept on a design document towards release.
Let me reiterate. I’m not even talking about bugs that are CTD-inducing (except for that Tobii bug) or performance-related. I’m not talking about the obscure bugs that are difficult to trace. I’m talking about all these in-your-face, stupid-level stupid bugs.
They. Are. Everywhere.
The 404 would likely become one of my main aircraft it the turbocharger critical altitude bug was fixed.
I was a FS2024 apologist for the first few weeks, but it’s just so bad that I can’t do that anymore. Specifically, the control configuration UI is terrible along with the weight and balance.
Anyone seen any info on when we might get the Flysimware C414 over in 2024??
I want it back. The C404 is okay, but jut not quite scratching that itch
