MSFS2024 - CTD 5 out of 5 attempts today

A lot CTDs:

  • 6-7 CTD’s yesterday when I back to main menu, another 10 today
  • same when I finish flight
  • arrund 10 when I choose basic sim livery for airlines: Max8, A330

Note: when I download liveries from IniBuilds from IniApp for A330 I have no problem with CTDs when I choose one of them!

My friend who trying to install MS24 all day had 3xtime froze sim. After: 3 CTD’s when he choose any plane and press Start Flight. First time MSFS user. I gifted him this sim! Unistalled :frowning: “Till Micosoft fix those issues”. He back to Xplane11.

‘CTSs Flight Sim we are so proud’

EDIT: After reloading the sim again even liveries from IniBuilds I have in my Community cousing CTD’s

Maybe go into add/remove programs and do a repair?
That often works for me with store apps.

After making my own post/thread with my crash reports etc, we were able to resolve my crashing to desktop and have been playing 5 hours straight with no crashes at all… My ram is ddr5 6000mhz but my 12th gen i7 is only able to handle 4800. Once i lowered the ram frequency to 4800 , no more crashes so far.

I have a lot of crashes to desktop when I try to pick a livery. The sim crashes as soon as I click on a specific livery.

I have this, when I pick a livery that is meant for a different variant.

Eg. the Qatar livery for the A330.

This livery seems to be exclusive for the A330-300 (GE). But when you select the A330 in the aircraft menu and go straight to liveries to pick the Qatar livery the sim crashes. Because it is on the A330-200 variant that seem to be incompatible with the livery.

I would assume the same “logic” would apply to all aircraft and liveries.

They really have to limit the liveries shown, to those applicable to the currently selected Variant of the Model.

yep, same for me.First crash today.Only thing changed is an normal Microsoft update yesterday

I was having a really smooth time with the game for the most part, never had this before, but today when I try to click the H125 to select it in freeflight I am crashing to desktop every single time, other aircraft are fine but when I clcik the H125 I get the instant ctd - maybe a config or livery issue? since I set those up before

interestingly I also seem to get a CTD when I do a career mission with the H125 - extremely broken for me right now, never had this issue before

I’ve tried to fly 5 times today

5 CTD’s, generally aroudn 15 minutes after take-off.

This can be using the ui, minimising the sim, panning around the VC.

Opened a bug report with Zendesk about this, they gave me two things to try.
They didn’t help me, but perhaps works for some of you.

a.

  • Open an administrative command prompt window as an administrator
  • Type ipconfig /flushdns and hit Enter
  • You should see – Windows IP Configuration. Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache
  • Exit CMD
  • Your DNS cache should have been reset.
  • Restart your computer
  • Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and see if the issue is resolved

b.
Fix “Instruction at Referenced Memory Could Not Be Read” Errors
How to Fix Windows 11 Error “The Instruction at 0x00007FF referenced memory 0x0000000. The memory could not be written”

Hope it helps someone.

i not understand. If i load in the Airport VTBS (Bangkok) i get a CTD. If i start a flight in the same region Midair it works ???

I can’t get past start screen CTD every single time with no message.

I was able to play before and after the patch …but then it started with the CTD’s.

I changed nothing on my end.

Then I uninstalled the game (Windows PC version) reinstalled it and CTD either during load or at start screen.

Did a repair of files…CTD either at load or at start screen.

Hi there, I am checking in to see if you are still getting consistent crashes on the latest build? Thanks.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• before the update it was happening prior to entering the ready to fly screen, and when it didnt crash it froze, forcing me to reload, now i can at least go past that screen, but either it crashes a couple of seconds later, or after i get in the cockpit, if not that, then it freezes when going on the outside camera or pausing the game, it also can get black screens, this has happend mostly with the a321, but also the a330 and a310

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Out of three attempts to complete a flight today using the A330-300 by iniBuilds on the Xbox Series X, all resulted in a crash to desktop (CTD). I attempted to perform an IFR flight from LIRF to LIMC three times, but each flight crashed approximately halfway through without any apparent cause. Additionally, the persistent cursor mode bug—particularly when using the Xbox Elite 2 wireless controller—continues to disrupt the experience. My enthusiasm for iniBuilds’ Airbus aircraft and Microsoft Flight Simulator is being severely tested by these ongoing issues.

i have not yet been able to even enter an a/c - continuous CTDs:

It’s just so brilliant. With the update, the already broken sim broke further!

I’ve not been able to get into a single flight since the dreadful update.

Very consistent! Here’s how it goes. I select the A330, go to the liveries, choose KLM. CTD 90% of times. If somehow, I get past that, it crashes the moment I click on fly now. For other aircraft, the crash is random and can be any time during the flight. But it crashes 100% always.

Here’s 1 error I got:

CONSTANT CTD. Constant!!! My computer and graphics card should power the death star. Everything is updated. I have throttled back graphics and frame rates. still CTD. Horrible.
AMD ryzen 7 7800X3d 8 core processor, 4201 Mhz, 8 cores, 16 logic
x4 PC based
32 GB Ram

Same issue I think. Had occasional CTDs before update but now it’s pretty much every flight and not in a repeatable fashion. I had pretty high settings at first but I’ve nerfed the settings and still get the crashes along with removing any 3rd party stuff. 9750X3D, 64Gb DDR5, 3090, Quest 3 (it doesn’t need VR to crash)
