Just had the same on trying to launch the A330-300. selected the Cathy Pacific livery, then frozen, even the spinning thing. I couldn’t even exit the menu, them boom CTD
+1. I’ve had similar “occurrences” while selecting A332 GE & A333 RR & GE and lately H125. The UI screen freezes completely once you select any random liveries of aforementioned fleet followed by CTD within 40 seconds. Although, at times the same aircraft load successfully but takes multiple attempts while CTDs are far too often since day 1.

• For me is after flying today the R66 Like the OP when trying to select another category of planes than ALL game doesn’t load anything in the center as per usual and crashes.
I tried to delete the rolling cache - nothing
I tried to delete the streamed files of the R66 from C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\StreamedPackages\microsoft-aircraft-r66 - nothing

note that the video is recorded with my VR headset but the game is not in VR and it doesn’t matter if I wear or not the headset.
you a good man for posting this…I was losing my mind cause now i cant fly helicopters haha. Whats even worse is now if i wanna load the sim again after the crash, I need to wait the 15 minutes for the packages…this sim is a joke lol.
I’ve had a ton of crashes selecting aircraft. The most common is if I have the R66 selected then I go to the helicopter menu it crashes almost every time.
Once the attempt to choose a livery results in loading a completely different aircraft, the entire aircraft selection becomes permanently broken, and just clicking on it causes an insta-CTD.
Thus, I can no longer fly anything else than the Robinson R66. I guess this can be fixed by wiping the cloud-saved data, but then I will need to rebuild my whole controller setup again.
Attached is a picture of me trying to select a livery for the Robinson, which was the last time I was able to access this screen.
Example A330-300GE SAS and Malaysia repaint always caused CTD when i selected it. So before that At configure page usually the default airbus repaint is selected, I then proceeded to the variant section and chose A330-300GE VIP(GE) and select the same problematic livery. This time there was no CTD apart from a bit of loading once the plane loads try to re select back the problematic repaint and variant.
Only issue the problem may reoccur again on next sim launch and it seems to happen when the sim is jammed upon ending flight.
