[MSFS2024] De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter

I wish some reputable dev would make a version of the Twotter.

Would you not prefer a plane that’s legendary?

There’s a dimmer switch on the top panel. You have to turn it up higher than “dim” or you won’t see the lights. I had the same issue but it’s working now.

I’ve just submitted a bug report about the problem with the doors:

I think is one of the most comprehensive manuals released for a FS24 aircraft. Even with a introduction flight. Kudos to Hans.

Such a lazily made aircraft, what a shame. Ailerons animations are still reversed…

Garmin displays are still blinding at night. Ugh!

So with the wheels only Twin otter im getting no lights on the engine instruments, the skis and float versions work fine…Not sure how to fix this…

Love your username.

I’d not bothered to try out the Twin Otter, until last night.

It was dark, and the aircraft was completely powered off, but upon entering the cockpit there were lights on all over the place. Some were illuminating most of the cockpit, the controls mounted on the base of the yoke were lit, other control lights were lit.

So many aircraft in the sim — and I’m talking about the included aircraft — have so many lighting issues. It doesn’t seem to matter what kind of lights, but they are either lit when they shouldn’t be, don’t cast light when they should, can’t be seen in daylight, cast too much light, or something else. What is going on with the lighting in 2024? Why is this so consistently an issue?

I’ve spent the last couple of days flying the Twotter, and even with all the bugs, I find it really enjoyable. It’s the first default plane I’ve encountered with damage engine simulation. I really appreciate the very detailed ops manual and the introduction flight tutorial. Just like in the old FS9/FSX times.

I just hope that Hans can have enough time to solve the problems and improve it even more. I see a lot of potential in this addon.

Auxiliary tanks arent feeding the engines OR refuelling the center tanks. Made a bug report in bug hub

As I can see in other posts, It seems that several default planes have engine damage simulation (Caravan too). Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to work very well.

I think 3D modeling is certainly better than that of Aerosoft’s perhaps; at least the cockpit. However, it would’ve been nice if they’d gone gone for the 300 instead of 100. Is there any wishlist or so to be able to vote for the 300 for their considerations in future update?

Not sure if it’s better, but it certainly is different, especially inside the cockpit. I wonder which model is more true to life, though. In the Aerosoft model, I could actually see the sixpack without turning the yokes invisible. Also, the Microsoft model has a bunch of modelling mistakes (like the twisting door frames), let’s see when they get fixed.

The lead developer responsible for the Aerosoft Twotter is the same person that developed the Microsoft Twotter. No idea if the modeling has been done by the same people, as well.

Has anyone had CTD issues when getting close to arrival?
