There seems to be a problem with the effect of the spoilers/airbrakes in the flight model. I fly the DG-1001 in real life (as an instuctor) and as with most gliders, the impact of spoiler/airbrake deployment on pitch is rather small and almost unnoticable regarding airspeed. Extending the spoilers/airbrakes makes the nose drop slightly and automatically compensating for the loss of lift and increased drag. Therefore, it requires NO re-trimming of the aircraft to maintain trim speed while operating the spoilers/airbrakes.

In the simulator on the other hand, when extending the spoilers/airbrakes, the nose rises up quite a a lot, requiring pitch adjustment and re-trimming of the aircraft. The Got Friends gliders (Stemme and Taurus) behave correctly and feel very natural but both Asobo got something wrong.

In real life, in calm weather you can trim the glider to the desired approach speed (usually 100 kph with surface winds calm) and only use the spoilers/airbrakes to control the descent angle/aiming point (where the aircraft would impact the ground without any further control inputs) right up to the gate where you initiate the flare.
