I just built my new PC and wanted to test out MSFS2024 with Frame Generation
PC specs:
Ryzen 7 9800x3d
64gb ddr5
4tb nvme
rtx5090 32gb
At the moment in Fenix cockpit view at Frankfurt from Aerosoft I’m getting around 100 FPS, and these are my settings.(you can find all the screenshots in the imgur album)
In settings I’m not getting any option to multiply the Frame Generation like x1 x2 x3 x4 like on some YouTube videos.
I dont have the BETA, I ran the sim and I didnt got any update, so I’m running the sim now in all default and with framegen I will get double FPS when SU2 is out?
To get the beta of SU2 you have to sign up for it via the Xbox Insider App (on PC). It’s not an automatic update for everyone.
But yeah, once SU2 is out officially you should be able to enable it. I guess it will be a couple of weeks until the proper release. This is what the settings look like in the SU2 Beta:
So when its out I will get double FPS? Now the FPS I get is the default as everyone else would do no matter if they have frame generation option for their graphics card or not?
Increasing the multiplier will do nothing more than degrade the graphics. Your sim experience should be phenomenal with FG and the PC you listed without any multipliers.
I don’t need FG with a 9800X3D, 64 GB, and a 16GB 5070Ti running everything on high in TAA. With a 32GB 5090 I would simply enjoy virgin ultra in TAA and call it a very fine day! YMMV
I was doing some tweaking on the settings, and without any reason to use Ultra on everything in MSFS2024 since there is no difference in quality but it is in performance, Im getting around 140-150 stable FPS on Frankfurt + Fenix A320 + VATSIM + ModelMatching and traffic.I think this is very very good but I just want to see the difference with FG multiplier.
I too am in SU2 beta and there are a few beta threads kicking the FG can around. I don’t think I have seen anyone able to select higher than 2x yet, as mentioned above. We are only in the 2nd beta release so my sense is that they are building around the VR users’ needs overall in SU2 and time will tell if they activate the higher multipliers, if they are stable enough for public release. Then there is the question of FSR 3 FG vs Nvidia, which may be mooted by a 5090?
Here is the thing: Every time I try any combination of DLSS/DLAA/FG I am disappointed by some degradation in graphics compared to just leaving it in TAA and accepting the highest frame rates I can get. While I am not the target user for high multiple FG rates due to being FPS limited by my 60Hz HDTV, the 40-60 FPS I am getting in HDR10 (yes its an old Q80) is smooth and crisp enough for flying an airliner on instruments while panning around with abandon.
What other kinds of flying do you do where extreme high frame rates are needed, just wondering. Seems to me like the fly with head outside the cockpit guys need high frame rates to zoom around low terrain at high speeds, but I may be mistaken there?
For myself personally with a 180Hz monitor I really desire a high frame rate. I can definitely tell the diffrence between 60 FPS and 120 FPS even if I’m just puttering around at 90 knots low to the ground and looking around with TrackIR.
With the hardware you have, you don’t need DLSS or Frame Generation. Your setup, with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB DDR5 RAM and 4TB NVMe, is incredibly powerful and will handle MSFS 2024/2020 without the need for these technologies.
DLSS and Frame Generation are mainly useful when you’re looking to get extra performance on less powerful systems, but with your setup, you’ll have smooth performance without them.
I have a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 4090, 64GB DDR5 6000 CL26 and I don’t use DLSS or Frame Generation either, because my system handles everything just fine and the performance is already top-tier. So, you’re all good to go mate.
As the guy said before, on my old pc I got 15-20 FPS on Medium/High i9 10850K 3.6GHz RTX3070 64GB RAM and now when I get 160FPS I want even more which is so greedy actually
I made my first flight today and it was smooth as silk, on very busy Frankfurt I got not less than 90FPS constantly. However I’m not running everything on Ultra at the moment since there is no need for that, only cost the performance.
But however, everyone would like to have more and more FPS as he said
