Thanks,
MSFS Team

I fly a Taurus Electro and I’m impressed by the realism of the Taurus M in MSFS24. I can’t figure out how to retract the prop after takeoff.

Thank you for the feedback! To retract the engine, make sure you are going at a low enough speed, then turn ignition switch off, and propeller mode switch to retracted. You have to be at a low enough speed though or else the propeller will windmill with airflow and not allow propeller braking. Cheers.

It’s an incredible aircraft, it really is very special to fly, I love motor gliders and you’ve done a fantastic job with it. I only have a few thoughts.

  • It would be nice to be able to open the vent/window so I can hear the wind
  • The parking brake doesn’t appear to work, or I cannot work out how to use it (the key command for it does nothing)
  • I’m not sure how much ballast I should be using, but with no ballast I reach the nose-down trim limit when using full flaps and the plane will just fly up into a stall when flying solo
  • I must admit I was expecting the fuses to be functional, it’d be a nice detail if they were
  • I am unsure if I am able to map controls for ignition, extend/retract prop, fuel valves. It’d be nice to add instructions into the manual if this is possible.

Has anyone gotten the Solar panels to work for longer than 45 minutes?

This is a self launching sailplane but it can’t be spawned “cold and dark”, select a parking spot and you end up on the runway, why?

I wish the manual on the MSFS page showed how to make thr flight plan show up as tasks on the avionics.

I have no clue how to add the custom waypoints to the avionics.

Otherwise i love rhe plane.

I think this is a general glider problem. Also if you select anything other than the default runway you still spawn on the default runway (but the winch is placed at your selected runway xD)

I followed the instructions here and I still can’t get the engine to shutdown and retract. I am on the runway, stopped, throttle idle, ignition switch turned all the way counter clockwise (which I assume is off?), and the engine keeps idling. Any thoughts on what I can try next? There’s an eng system electrical switch which defaults to OFF, though I’m not sure why. The UP/DOWN switch defaults to UP, and putting it in the DOWN position doesn’t do anything either. I’ve searched the web and am surpised no one else is posting about this, so I’m assuming it’s me.

Check for conflicting control bindings.

Easier said than done! Is there an easy way to find all the control bindings that are specific to the Taurus?

Is it possible to disable the copilot 3d model? I have set it in blank in the identity settings but with a non-zero copilot weight it still spawns.

Did something happen to this glider? I used to love this but flew it for the first time in months and it constantly wants to pitch up into a stall. Its doing so despite putting the trim all the way forward.

I tried another glider from the same brand (Discus) and its working fine. Ive checked all of my joystick binds and they are using the same settings as my other planes with same calibration.

The default weight and balance is now unflyable. Before takeoff you have to hit “tab”, click on “Aircraft”, click on the box for “Flight performance”, and click “Mass and Balance” which shows a default center of gravity of 48% with a red dot. A black box opens with two little squares, one each for front pilot (default 165 lbs) and back pilot (default 0 lbs). Click on the box with 0 and type in a copilot weight - I use 130 which puts the CG at 28%. Then you have to click “LOAD AIRCRAFT” then “LOAD IMMEDIATELY” This gives you a flyable GG. I have to do this every time I fly the Taurus.

Thanks for that, I didn’t even think of checking that as I assumed it was still loading the same way.

Hi, this week I tried the Taurus for the first time .I Did several take-off but ,on landing, I’m unable to retract the propeller despite your suggested advise.Tried at 60 knts. It seams that the propeller mode switch is not functioning. I’m unable to retract the propeller also when I am on the runway after landing.

In addition to that I’ve noticed that “toggle parking brakes “ is not functioning as advised by others before.

Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks

Would like to get this glider, but it seems to be abandoned?
