On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being best), how do you rate your Overall Enjoyment of this aircraft?
The plane is too sensitive on the controls. Similarly, the use of the rudder causes a large deviation of the aircraft on the yaw axis, which is not the case in real life.
The alignment on final is done via the rudder but here it is impossible because the plane goes into too big a turn on its yaw axis.
Also, there is no loss of power when pulling on the carburetor heater.
Highlighting the mags as the starter button is a checklist bug. The starter button is actually the little red button beneath the fuel valve switch in the centre console.
Thanks for this! I was also stumped looking for the starter. I saw that switch but wrongly assumed it was some sort of fuel cutoff. Did a ferry flight in the DR400 last night and had to Ctrl-E to start… and then got the flaps overspeed warning lowering them a notch before starting my takeoff roll
Otherwise a really nice flight and a pleasant change from the C172 for the early career missions, even if my British head struggled to convert kph to knots!
Thanks for this very helpful graphic showing all the control labels. I had been setting the parking brake in flight, thinking I was applying carburetor heat.
Even so, I really enjoy flying the Robin because
It’s very stable and easy to trim.
It is the only low wing, steam gauge, simple air aircraft in the standard MSFS 2024 package.
The single non-dme VOR is just enough to help you find your way around flying VFR.
I was really worried when I saw that gauge in the red for the first time, but A) nothing seems to cool it off short of turning off the plane, and B) nothing bad seems to happen.
