[MSFS2024] Sim Update 5: Your Dream Feature?

Ability to save graphics settings profiles so you can switch easily based on the type of flying. Maybe even assign them to a keybind so you can switch effortlessly even during a flight.

There are still issues with EFB flight plans and some of the Asobo aircraft have obvious bugs.

Fix the core sim rather than adding more functionality.

The SU4 standard should have been the release standard.

I am getting quite a few CTDs with addon aircraft when I try and select alternative configurations, i.e. paints, fuel, etc.

However, I now love flying in FS2024 as most of the major issues appear to be fixed.

  • Custom liveries in career mode and the possibility to have the ATC using a custom callsign.

Makes the information you fill in the EFB more important and used.

  • More variety in the weather.
  • Make the staff and the vehicles actually clean the way when starting up and taxiing.
  • A bit of variety in ATC exchanges.
  • Improve career mode to not suggeest missions with vfr landings under IFR conditions

Agreed. SU4 release quality should now be the norm. Don’t go below again, please…

Although I tend to agree with more realism and authenticity to the sim, could you be a little less specific?

I’m a bit curious - how would it be different in VR? (I’m not a pilot but use VR… I always want to learn.) Thanks in advance!

I wish they would fix daytime cockpit lighting. There is no reason for them to be so dark. At least in 2020 you could turn on the overhead lights during the day. In 2024 they still have no effect until after nightfall. It seems to me when 2020 first came out the lighting seemed fine until a couple of sim updates in. I think they did away with eye adaptation lighting or something called that. I’ve been in plenty of real GA cockpits and they are not so dark you can’t see every detail in daylight.

TO BE ABLE TO PLAY THE GAME LIKE A PC PLAYER AS IM ON XBOX. the graphics are like the fs2006 it is shocking, and calling it the next generation of flight simulation is nuts, the LOD’s are terrible, the draw distance is unacceptable and ohhh the FPS is like the first ever flight simulation game, SU4 has completely messed up the game and the fact that your able to publish a game onto Xbox and see these issues is unbelievable, this is not a mean comment to the dev team or the MSFS team I’m just upset and stress with it all because I’m passionate about flight simulation and paying £200 for a flight sim is a lot of money so I would just like something in return, same as all the other flight simmers on pc and Xbox, Please MSFS make the change come from a dream to reality Please, Take care

I wouldn’t say this is at the top of my list, but it’s definitely on my list.

The Longitude in career mode is rather… bland.

I’d like them to focus on the core.

  1. My biggest pet peeve - this stutter on the ground that’s been forever there - looking up or down starts immediately unloading vram, causing a big stutter when you reset your view - the only reason to look up or down on the ground is plane prepping, just keep everything loaded.
  2. Weather improvements (clouds, turbulence)
  3. Keep improving night lighting
  4. Fix the lack of tire friction with the ground, noticeable while taking off and landing especially
  5. Keep improving performance, there’s still VRAM optimizations to squeeze out
  6. Setting minimum standards for quality and performance for marketplace items
  7. Improve UI and airplane selection

Dream feature…lower required bandwidth so players in less populated areas can play equally this those in places like California.
Most of the world does not have Uberspeed internet yet Assoboe designed it to run for the few not the many.

More realistic icing conditions. Especially precipitation in clouds below freezing. Now its raining. Should be ice buildup, rime etc

Hi,

in this thread there is an extensive discussion on the matter.

MSFS is breaking the VR golden rule: don’t move the camera, the user is - Bug Reporting Hub / Virtual Reality (VR) - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums

I REALLY want them to finish what is already there. There are so many “features” that are more like incomplete placeholders, full of potential, but implemented long ago, or in a hurry, superficially, and not really working:

  • 130+ first party aircraft, of which 89 got some fixes, but even those need much more work. I’m looking at you, 787-10 Dreamliner…
  • ATC
  • Ground Services
  • Career Mode
  • VR
  • Ability to save World Map settings
  • Sim Rate (traffic, fuel burn, porpoising issues)
  • Multiple Monitor configuration
  • Force Feedback support

I REALLY just want what is there to finally work well - all to a similar level of quality and consistency. For the aircraft:

  • A group of people in house (or contracted) to fly each plane in free flight, career (where applicable), VR, Multiplayer, etc, and really catalog all the things that should be fixed to bring the fleet to a consistent, enjoyable level. The fleet needs some more love - and a sense of ownership by MS / Asobo. Sure contract out the work, but really own those planes, fly them from cold and dark to shutdown.
  • The same team should perform the in-sim checklists, and use the Official MSFS manuals, most of which were for 2020, and bring both the checklists and manuals up to date.

I will have NO faith in “New” features when the existing ones are incomplete.

Please focus SU5 on finishing what is already there!

Persistence including W&B and a G5 from Working Title. The next update for the A2A Comanche will have the option to use the G5 but I can’t get myself to use it in it’s current state.

More Beer

Top of the list, all performance related bugs finally squashed, VRAM, landing stutters etc.

2nd, scenery gateway so folks can start fixing airports.

Supertanker and Dreamlifter improvements.

Just keep going with everything, basically.

The issue is that they have a bit of a company rule that they don’t wish to break which is that whatever they offer must function with real-time live traffic. This puts these services, at least in their current form, out of the question for that type of implementation/incorporation.

Interactive airport building doors in walk around mode so we can get inside the airport buildings and interactive hanger doors, and add a basic ground ramp to airplane boarding ramp units for small airports like at Concord Regional (KJQF)
