MSFS2024 SU2 stutter precisely every 10 seconds

Is this just me or anyone has the same issue. Just loaded SU2 and encountering stuttering or hicup precisely every 10 second.

No issue like that here.

First of all, delete all the cache.

Does it also happens with an empy communityfolder?

Try to compare the spikes with your pc’s network activity… i had this a while ago with the windows printer services … spool service or something …

Look for a process on your computer that runs every ten seconds, not hard to find with Process Manager etc. Often it is a USB device driver that asks if it still connected or something like that and then locks up cores waiting for an answer that never comes.

Exactly the same issue! This happen when in motion…

I have a 13thGen Intel(R) Core™ i9 13900K, 4090 and 64GB.

I monitored the spike with my watch, and its precisely every 10 sec.. so something is wrong here..

I have checked the background processes and I found nothing..

Try decreasing the time between measurements; there has to be a spiking process.

I had this happen recently in 2020, turns out one of my HDMI cables was not seated correctly…

I have seen spikes from AI traffic apps in the frametime graph but also from inncuous apps like Navigraph SimLink, which caused a regular ‘beat’ every few seconds until I quit the process and restarted it and it hasn’t happened since. Unfortunately without more digging on your side so that you can provide more information, it could be any process accessing your CPU in the background.

Same with FS2020
CPU spike with high alloc/frame
with all cache deleted
wiith vanilla game

I had the same problem months ago.

For me deactivating Resizable Bar in the bios did the trick.

I can´t found a solution.. I did a reinstall of Win11 and MSFS2024… only installed Aerosoft ENGM and EDDL, with Fenix and PMDG.. problem persist.

I experienced the same problem while on SU2 beta… but on SU1 I didn’t have any of this problem..

I hope someone will found a solution, I am fed up of trying to change settings all the time… shouldn’t be like that..

Update: I found that the refresh rate goes up to max 240 hz when the spikes is present.. Seems that the refresh rate is causing this.. I have my monitor set to 240 hz, FG is on, Gsync is on, in Nvidia cp ( Ultra mode, power max, and vertical sync is on).

What does it mean? As mentioned before it happens when in motion, and also in the cockpit and looking around after som sec. without moving the camera..

Thanks guys for your reply, I tried unplug and replug all my external divices (USB, bluetooth…) and this issue seems gone.

Did the same thing, no changes..

Same problem here… just spent hours trying to fix this… I can’t find the cause.

Edit: Finally found it… It was process lasso on my system

What do u mean?

exactly the same problem as you described. I noticed that this only happens on the ground. In flight everything is fine. Did you somehow solve the problem?

First of all, if you don’t have some other setting capping the frame rate then your PC will attempt to push 240fps to your monitor to match the refresh rate. Secondly, It takes a top of the line monitor cable to push a refresh rate of 240Hz regardless of what your gpu is doing. Bottom line, kick your refresh rate down to about 60-144Hz and see how that works. I don’t think you need to set it any higher even if you use frame gen. If you’re still having issues I would recommend that you consider a new monitor cable.

Edit: I also recommend to go into Win 11 settings for your monitor and check the refresh rate. If you have your refresh set to 240Hz and your cable can’t handle it you’ll find this setting lower than 240Hz. Also, turn off dynamic refresh rate (see attached pic below). That setting is Microsoft’s attempt to save the environment by reducing your refresh rate when it detects you aren’t doing anything to save power. It’s a disaster during gaming as your refresh rate will bounce around like a yo-yo.
