Xplane can look nice - it might not look as photorealistic as MSFS but when it’s running at a nice consistent framerate it’s not exactly terrible on the eyes especially with TrueEarth in a couple of screenshots above.
I did a quick comparison of a video clip I found of a real world A350 landing at Tokyo Haneda in the bad weather and set my sim up roughly the same - it’s not a bad representation (default airport btw).
X-Plane definitely has its place - I wouldn’t say it’s better than MSFS at all, but I wouldn’t say MSFS is better at X-Plane in every way either. I enjoy both - but at least with X-Plane I know what I’m getting every time whereas with 2024 it’s currently either pin sharp or back to FSX textures (and the default airports are shocking).
