Multiplayer Avatars disappear after some distance walked away from aircraft

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: When flying in a multiplayer party with a friend, we noticed when we land and get out to walk and explore an area, after a short distance walking away from our aircraft, our avatars disappear on each other’s screens. It seemed to be somewhere around 100 yards or so of walking away from our airplanes. We did notice when we walked back to the radius around our plane, our avatars would re-appear for eachother.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. join a multiplayer group
  2. fly together and land somewhere. both of you get out of your planes and start walking away from your planes.
  3. observe that after some distance (about 100 yards or so?) your avatars will dissappear on eachother’s screens and you can no longer see each other. Return to the close radius around yoru planes, and your avatars will re-appear.

Would be nice if this was extended ? what is the reason for them dissappearing after about 500m?

I guess it’s related to the LOD. When your avatar gets far from the airplane, the avatar dissapears from the other player’s view. It’s like they can see your avatar only when it within the distance of representation of the aircraft

• The avatar dissapear from other’s view when it’s far from the airplante. I guess it’s related to the LOD, so when the aircraft is not represented for others, the same happens with the avatar.

Also other’s aircraft dissapear even being not very far, not only the avatar. It spoils the multiplayer experience.

This definitely makes it difficult to enjoy exploring an area after landing somewhere with a friend. One of the great things about the sim is the ability to get out of the airplane and walk around the environment. If you can only explore a very small radius around your airplane before your friend’s avatars dissappear, it is almost of no use.
