Multiplayer port forward

You are not wrong, I was pulling my hair out for a while.

:face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Thank You for that input… Was not correct here, clicking on “Fix it” solved the issue: Nat Type is now “Moderate” (was “Teredo is unable to qualify. This could block you from playng multiplayer games”)
:v:

try this one , in windows search for Xbox Console Companion Or the new App if you have that one , click on your picture and make sure your not on ‘Appear Offline’ then start MSMF2020.

in companion you can find the setting under ‘More’

It then helped me, permanently activate my login to the Microsoft account and X-Box account.

To the people here still having issues, are you using the Windows Store version?

I worked with support and the Steam version worked first time for me, but the Windows Store version is broken.

Thanks…windows version for me and the group still not working…but all players is working

Windows Store version here, and I see plenty of people in MP. I’ve not tried groups though, this is just random people.

I have the Windows Store version and have played in group almost exclusively.

It works just fine after opening my ports, teredo, etc.

I had to do the same deal with the windows store version of sea of thieves when it first came out.

Can you confirm the ports you forwarded ?

From above:

Thanks…i am not familiar with toredo…not sure how to find out which port it uses ?

Teredo is terrible, but from what i know its a tunnel that MS uses.
For instance if you run inside Powershell admin:

PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> netsh interface teredo show state
Teredo Parameters
---------------------------------------------
Type : natawareclient
Server Name : win1901.ipv6.microsoft.com
Client Refresh Interval : 20 seconds
Client Port : 6PPP3
State : qualified
Client Type : teredo client
Network : unmanaged
NAT : cone
NAT Special Behaviour : UPNP: Yes, PortPreserving: Yes
Local Mapping : 192.XXX.XXX.XXX:6PPP3
External NAT Mapping : XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:6PPP3

You should get some output similar to above.

The “Client Port”, “Local” and “External NAT” mappings show the port that Teredo is using, the 6PPP3 number you see there.
This will may not be the same every time you reboot, but can stay the same through a reboot.

the following applys to the teredo tunneling adapter ;

There are several reasons why the Teredo is unable to qualify for the Xbox app when connecting to Xbox Live. It is possible that the required network ports are not opened or the Teredo Tunneling Adapter is not updated or installed on your PC. To resolve your concern, we suggest that you perform the following solutions:

Solution 1 . Uninstall and reinstall the Teredo Tunneling Adapter.

  1. Press Windows + X on your keyboard and select Command Prompt (Admin) .
  2. Type the following command: netsh interface Teredo set state disable
  3. Hit Enter .
  4. Press Windows + X on your keyboard again and select Device Manager .
  5. Select View > Show Hidden Devices .
  6. Click on Network Adapters .
  7. Look for the adapters that contain Teredo such as Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface or Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter .
  8. Right-click on the adapter name and click Uninstall .
  9. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

To re-enable the Teredo adapter:

  1. Press Windows + X on your keyboard and select Command Prompt (Admin).
  2. Type the following command: netsh interface Teredo set state type=default

Note The Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter will reinstall automatically. It is not recommended to install the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface adapter in the Device Manager because it may cause issues with the Teredo functionality.

i have to say that with me it suddenly started working… without any port forwarding…
So i still think it has to do something with the servers. on the other hand , toredo is working with ipv6 , maybe with some people ipv6 isn’t installed ?

It is a bit frustrating…i am trying to connect with a friend of mine.
Both our modems have the same ports open as suggested in this thread.
We are friends in xbox and we see each other online in the xbox consoles.
Our nat type is open and network connected… all good !

But in fs2020, he shows connected to me but I show disconnected to him..
We can’t get into a private group.

But if we select all players, we can see each other…and all the rest…

My friend could see me but I couldn’t see him.

I disabled my firewall locally and then clicked from “Live” to “All Players” in the multiplayer settings area (see the screenshot earlier in the thread).

One of those things did the trick. We restarted the game and showed up nose to tail on the same runway (we were in an xbox party and MS FS group).

Hope that helps anyone else.

Has anyone been able to get the multiplayer group working ?..NOT all players…just a group ?
If so, i would like to schedule a test with you if i could…i would add you as a friend, create a group and see if it would work.
Thanks for considering my request…
