Multiple specializations in the same company if the one aircraft can support

I thought there was a wishlist item for this already but I can’t find it now.

I was disappointed to see that my career company was limited to flightseeing even though I am able to use a C172 for dropping skydivers or carrying cargo or short passenger trips. Do I really need a custom plane to do cargo flights or skydiving when I can just pull out the seats from my 172 and be ready to go? I could understand if there was a fee associated with repurposing the aircraft for different types of flights similar to the relocation fee. Same for if I upgraded to a Caravan, it should be able to handle multiple types of jobs.

When MSFS Careers were first announced, I was worried that we use one company for all kinds of flying. Now, I am somewhat annoyed that my company with a Cessna can only do one specific kind of missions.

Missions should be based around what your purchased airplane can do and what qualifications you have. Nothing more. That way, players can create specific companies by themselves to cater to every need. So for example one general aviation company that does all that stuff and then a Search and Rescue company.

Hi @SCLINC: Was this what you were thinking of?:

I saw those but they aren’t the one. I’m sure i saw a post very much like the one I made but now it seems to have disappeared.

I was thinking about the easiest way to implement this and given the current way companies are implemented, they don’t need to change the need to pay for or define a separate company for each specialization. Just allow us to share aircraft between companies. It could be added to the screen where you choose aircraft or transfer aircraft. When sharing an aircraft between companies, there could be a conversion fee charged each time you transfer a plane between companies if it would require repurposing. For example, if I wanted to share a 172 between my flight seeing and cargo companies, each time I transfer it between them, it charges me a fee for taking seats out or putting them back in. But if I wanted to share between cargo and sky diving, no such fee should be charged since the same basic configuration could be used for either purpose. Although even if there was a blanket conversion fee charged for transferring between companies, it would still be a massive improvement.

Totally want this.

A company should not be locked into one purpose and instead just be limited by my certifications.

Does it not stand to reason that say I have a company mainly for cargo, I would do a flightseeing tour to make a little money on the side? Or if I go from A to B with cargo and have nothing lined up after, I might slide in the seats and take passengers instead?

I really don’t like the idea of being forced to have multiple companies.

Another way to do this would be transfer options for planes between companies !

But i agree it would be better to have less individual companies, that can do multiple jobs. Just replace need to buy company with need to buy “licence” for certain activity.

Another possibility would be option to “convert” planes between version for reasonable price, if realistic.
Like 172, 208 or P-12/24, pax<->freight is basically only remove/install seats.

In general i dislike that we can’t use pax or skydive planes for cargo, especially light/medium.
I really like how it works in NeoFly.
Take a job to transfer X pax from Y to Z.
If you have xxxlbs load capacity remaing, you can buy goods at Y and sell them at Z for bonus profit.
And for small stuff like, Computers, Clothes, Meat,… i think that is not unrealistic at all.
