Must start MSFS always twice before it works properly

I always have to start MSFS twice.
After starting the first time, it only works partially.for example, it is impossible to select an aircraft or an airport.
After starting a second time, everything works normal.
This is very annoying because it always takes twice the time to start MSFS.
Does anyone have the same problem ?
PS. I installed the simulator from DVD ( DVD must be inserted when starting).

I remeber somewhere a similar report, but can’t exactly remember:
One example topic I found quickly ( but not exactly what I had in mind ):

You can only try the usually thing, like checking the mods ( empty community folder), rolling-cache, etc. .. Also often had users google-maps replacement installed. If so, uninstall it and be sure that you clean manually your windows “../hosts” file.

Prior to SU9, I hardly ever got CTDs. not sure if the CTDs are caused by SU9 or some new add-on. But one thing that I have noticed, after a CTD when you bring the sim back up it tells you there was a problem and ask if you was to come up in SafeMode.

I’ve notice that If I tell it to continue in regular mode, I’m likely to have another CTD right after launch or shortly after.

Lately after a CTD, I c0ome back up in SafeMode and then immediately shutdown and come back up in normal mode.

That seems top make it more stable. Maybe SafeMode rests something which prevents CTDs fro a while.

I know that some CTDs are caused by add-on, but I have so many and without deleting Marketplace purchases there is no way disabled them.

For stuff I’ve bought outside of Marketplace I use Add-on Linker and I can disable mods.

But is sure would be nice if MS/Asobo left some kind of log that we could look at the help us determine which add-on could be causing problems.

Asobo has said that they get a report of every single CTD, so the information sent after a CTD must be somewhere.

Anyone have any idea what gets sent to them and where it’s located?

On the Steam version, If the PC is re-booted, I need to start MSFS twice because it hangs. If the PC is not re-booted, then it is OK. Automatic Windows updates often re-boot the PC, so that will trigger the need to start MSFS twice.

Do you have HAGS mode on? Or some combination of Game Mode and HAGS mode?

Yeah, I too have to start MSFS twice after PC is turned on (rebooted). I dont have Hags or Game Mode ON. For me it sits there with the blurred background and arrow pointer… just before the “checking for updates” dialog appears. It does NOT CTD and the music plays as normal but you can tell its not doing anything. I just got used to it and when this happens, close the app and start again. It always works on the subsequent attempt and is fine thereafter.

Brief description of the issue:

When I boot up my PC and start Msfs2020, it stutters like I’m trying to run it on a Windows 95 PC.
If I quit to desktop and restart the sim, it’s silky smooth. This is not a once off event. I can recreate the issue every time.

I had this after installing FSUIPC. If i launched the sim after switching the pc on from cold, it wouldn’t start. If I restarted (warm boot) it worked fine. Uninstalling FSUIPC made no difference. I think FSUIPC modified the launch parameters. I did a clean install last week and its been absolutely fine since.

Thanks a million for the heads up. I will do a fresh install tomorrow. :ok_hand::+1:
