Brief description of the issue:

When modifying options for Multi window (I have three monitors) I see there are two x ‘WINDOW 1’ and two x ‘WINDOW 2’. If I remove one, it removes both. Is this a feature? Apart from that I think it is a fantastic feature.

Yes. Duplication occurs during the 2nd run of MSFS. I.E. shutdown of MSFS and then return.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

When you exit the multi-monitor set up MSFS will ask you to Apply/Save, Discard, or cancel even though you have not changed anything. MSFS thinks a Apply/Save is necessary due to its self generated duplication.

Bump. Same issue here (was about to submit a bug report for the same thing). It’s these sorts of small issues that really add up to create an annoying experience. It’s really disappointing that the likelihood of these smaller bugs being fixed is almost NIL.

I have a triple monitor setup, too. Steps to trigger the bug:

  1. Go to General Options > Experimental > Add New Render Window (twice for two extra windows)
  2. Click Apply and Save
  3. Return to Main Menu. Reopen General Options > Experimental
  4. Simulator lists double the number of windows you setup. Showing duplicates:

Just after writing my above comment, I played around with it some more, and it’s gone absolutely crazy:

I had this too recently on my 3 display setup and it was driving my crazy. Not only because of the double windows, they were popping up on the wrong screen, even overlaying the main screen. I noticed that toggling between windowed and fullscreen mode (with alt-enter) solved the placement problem. Then when I went into the experimental screen, toggled the windows again and removed the windowed mode windows. Playing with toggling full/windowed mode and adding/removing windows in the end resulted in having back the 2 extra windows in full screen mode, without extra windows that lingered in windowed mode. I hope this makes sense…

So why did this happen? The only thing I can think of is that I played with NVidia surround mode, where you have one big virtual screen with all the pixels. This doesnt look good in msfs so I reverted to the original setup and that was when the problems with multiple extra windows and placement started.

Hope its useful for someone.

Yes

Only started duplicating in the past couple of weeks. Figures for image adjustment - lateral, vertical etc - aren’t always the same for the duplicated window. But making a change in either original or duplicate window changes what appears on the monitor on which the view is displayed (I have a triple monitor set up).
