I live near a microcenter. They still have stock in that store
Just walked in to micro center. The sales guy said they sent them plenty of supply and had “100s” in stock. Which would I guess checks out as there was about 60 people on line with the print out to get a card.
Do you get the option to use frame intsertion without upscaling (so still using TAA) like I believe you do in Cyberpunk?
Have you seen the posts online and videos saying people got DLSS 3 working on older RTX series cards. If anyone gets it working on RTX 30 series please let us know.
Well, I think if you have the 3090, then no worries for now…
I am asking a lot from my 3090 24Gb here but it is delivering pretty well considering I am a greedy simmer who wants a lot of Ultra settings
Well it has been remarked upon that the 30 series cards also have the Optical Flow Accelerator, but it is a lot slower.
4k Ultra preset, DLSS3, still very cpu limited in most situations. The pictures were taken with HDR on, sorry for the over exposure Edit I forgot to mention terrain lod was at 325
Yes it will be for the upscaler part of DLSS. It is the frame insertion part that should help the people who are CPU bound as it gives free frames totally generated via the GPU.
I haven’t tested VR in your test locations as yet, but in the C172 and Kodiak I’m getting way better FPS with only a Radeon 6800XT, which surprised me, as I’m on 1440p which is higher than 2K (2048×1080 pixels). I started with the Ultra preset, setting few clouds on high setting and OLOD down to 110, as per your settings. Then with the Kodiak at KLGA I increased the settings to everything maxed to the limit, except TLOD which I left at 200.
My Asus Tuf OC 4090 should arrive early next week, so I’m hoping I will be getting a hefty uplift with my CPU.
Current rig Ryzen 5800X3D
Radeon 6800XT (16 GB VRAM)
DX12
Win 10
32GB 3200 CL16 ram
2*1TB M.2
KFRG C172: 90fps with engine on.
KLGA Kodiak: 82fps with your settings
: 75fps with every setting at max.
So have you tested TAA (no DLSS) with frame generation on a single monitor at 4k ?
If so, what were the results ?
IMHO DLSS is unacceptable because the glass cockpit screens are too blurry, even on DLSS quality.
How did you get higher framerates at 4K than 2K in the single screen category?
That is a very good question…
What I find amazing is that there is only a 5 FPS gain @ 4k on a single screen and with a 1 FPS loss on the Kodiak !!
Just to confirm that DLSS 3.0 frame generation option is now available in the MSFS SU11 beta build?
Also it would be nice to have screenshots or videos with the Dev mode/SDK FPS counter, as that would show frame times and whether it’s maintread or GPU limited. GPU power usage (from GPU-Z) may also tell if the GPU is coasting due to CPU bottlenecks.
My point exactly. There’s something whacky with these figures.
Clearly as suspected… very CPU limited for a lot of the time.
I have a 3080Ti … but a good, but bettered, i7 7700k.
I’m expecting a bigger improvement when I get a 12700k… as I’m CPU limited 75 percent of the time.
Your 4090 will come onto its own… when you get an i9 14900k !
At 4K you are more GPU limited.
At 1080p there would be zero increase.
That’s due to the CPU, I would think. The 5900X CPU can’t keep up. With the 5800X3D 4K would probably be much better.
Plenty of life left in the 3000 series once the next gen X3D comes out!
It makes no sense to me. At 2K you would be CPU limited, sure, so if the CPU is fast enough only for xx fps, then how come it can do more fps at 4K? It just doesn’t add up.
I can tell you my experience with a similar migration. I went from a i9-9900k to a i9-12900ks, just keeping my 3080Ti. FPS increased just by roughly 10 fps. You won’t see doubled FPS but an overall smoother handling of the graphics: more consistent and fluid camera movement and a best handling at ground level and heavy scenes.
It’s therefore very important to have a balanced CPU-GPU combo (my old CPU was not the best for that card), but also a proper MoBo and RAM to support them. Don’t miss that part in your update.
Game is still very demanding. The scenes are massive. It would be ok if you can get 40fps on ground at detailed international airports or big cities. I don’t expect much more in short time at least with latest game versions.
Cheers
