Posting this here in hopes that it helps someone else. I’ve spent the past few weeks pulling my hair out over random CTDs.
Mine began with SU9, and would happen at random intervals on every flight. Mostly right before approach but there was really no rhyme or reason behind them.
Tried everything listed here and then some, but the one thing that’s seemed to have solved it is making sure my peripherals (honeycomb bravo and alpha) are plugged directly into the ports of my PC. I started using a $30 USB hub right before the sim update and while I don’t know why, unplugging it has solved my crashes. Done 10-15 flights since and haven’t had a single CTD.

Is your hub powered externally or no?
If not, this would make sense as that is allot of power draw on one USB bus.
Allot of us invest in powered USB hubs to avoid issues of overloading which leads to device disconects and CTD’s.
@Crunchmeister71 recommended this one and it solved all my issues.

Bought an ANKER powered USB hub over a month and it made the world of difference. Had that same issue until I got the USB hub. Highly suggest the Anker powered USB hubs. Bit pricey but absolutely worth it!
That unit looks really solid. Thank you for the suggestion/link.
It was an externally powered hub, but just a $20 one from Amazon. I’ll look into the Anker, thanks.
Hopefully Asobo/Dev Team will pickup on this and add it to the Troubleshooting page/articles.

definitely, with more and more peripherals, saitek honecomb tobii etc etc and all the drivers and power functions associated with these devices, plus graphics card drivers and even windows itself, there is a lot going on and dont even let me start on poorly optimised scenery addons.
usb give some problem even without hub, example your mouse drop some power and need some recharging i notice in moment when indicator go to show 50% more chance to catch ctd. guess system see another hardware and that’s give problem, same if you start recharging in flight. same is new mouse from new usb port. same if you unplug/plug joystick for recalibrate center. btw you can do this with stick if throttle base stay in usb. btw i never had usb hubs. and usb crashes it’s my speculation about. but all i talking about replug usb in flight about freeze, not ctd. any way msfs too sensitive depend usb stability. and this indeed not about su9 that’s was all time from msfs out
I found this out with my beefier rig. I was getting CTD and weird functionality from many of my peripherals such as Stream Deck and the Bravo quadrant. Solved it when I plugged these USB’s into another powered source.
Even though I have a 1000w power supply, I guess I’m running low. Must be all the RGB in the case.
The power supply is not the issue.
The USB ports on the motherboard have a limit to how much power they can supply, if the devices plugged in exceed that limit then unpredictable things can happen, regardless of the PSU.
Examples of potentially problematic high draw devices include optical mice, TrackIr, Web Cameras and FFB joysticks.
Note if buying a hub try and get a powered one with switches that let you turn individual ports on and off. That way if a device plays up you can reset it without having to fish around trying to pull the cable.

I also have a 1,000 WAT PSU and as stated, it isn’t a wattage issue the USB hubs (on board) can only push through so much power.
