My ISP is still throttling, even after 3 years since the game released?

I’m with “Orange”, the arguably best French ISP in terms of quality. I’m getting a real 2.5Gbps connection on speedtests or in the real world, but with MSFS, I’m getting at most 10Mbps, which is really bad when flying over photogrammetry’d cities. I’m pretty sure this is my ISP throttling because first when I use a VPN, I’m getting around 300Mbps max, and second because when I look in Task Manager while flying, it’s a very cut and dry 12Mbps, no more, no less. Except by using a VPN, how could I possibly fix this issue? I’m really desperate

I don´t think you need much more than those figures you have during regular flying once the initial flight is loaded and scenery has been cached. Have you checked the network usage while flight loading screen is active (from progress bar starting at 0% and untill it reaches 100%)? There is where the max network usage is expected.

Cheers

In the flight loading screen, at most it’s going to be around 14Mbps, and in flight, it’s 12Mbps. But the worst is in the content manager: Here, when you have to download 30GB updates, I’m getting a sub 4Mbps download speed. No individual CPU core is maxed out, neither the Disk usage

Contact your ISP and tell them to either stop throttling your bandwidth or reduce the price of their internet service. Some countries have laws against throttling so you may want to check into that.
