My Library -- What Does This Even Mean?

I do not understand what this is trying to communicate to me.

Exhibit A:

This is the “Standard to Aviator Upgrade” package. Collapsed, it indicates “Streamed” and 106/106 items.

Okay. That seems clear. Expanded I can see the items directly below are Streamed and active. Great.

Exhibit B:

Scrolling down, I reach a number of the 2020 FF/LL content that is a part of the Aviator Edition. However, all of these are Disabled.

Returning to my original statement, what is the 106/106 indication in the package description communicating to me? A large number of the package’s items are disabled, and therefore not streamed.

Shouldn’t the first 106 read as a smaller number that indicates how many of the 106 items are enabled and streamed?

What is the usefulness of this value as it stands?

Anything non aircraft has been disabled in 2024. It’s a real shame as for me I only have the standard edition and those addons are what makes the sim enjoyable for me. Unfortunately there has been no answer from what I can see to exactly when they were be enabled. Maybe at marketplace launch?

That I understand, and I can enable these aircraft.

I’m just stuck on the meaning of 106/106.

Maybe that number will play a role when aircraft are downloadable? Obviously the 106/106 doesn’t make sense anyway if some are disabled. Otherwise it’s probably just something overlooked where the number always stays at maximum value unless others are seeing something different.

I had noted, prior to yesterday’s patch, that this value did show a smaller number for active items and now it does not.

I believe that’s showing that by selecting the “Standard to Aviator Upgrade” pack (note the checkbox) you have also selected all 106 of the 106 items that are bundled within that pack.

If you hit the checkbox on “EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol” I expect that number will change to “105/106 items”. Check it back and it should change to 106/106 again.

I too am a little confused. There are 2020 items in my library listed as ‘disabled’. But it looks like I could enable them (items from the 2020 PD edition).

But I don’t know which items are duplicated without looking them up individually. Would it know that and not load an older one that exists in the 2024 PD?

Doesn’t look like that is the intended function.

See this screenshot, nothing is selected and it still reads 106/106:

Hah! Then I assume it’s just buggy.

I am confused by this, too.

The MSFS bumper sticker.

There are no proper product people at Asobo. This should shock no one. It was designed by an engineer, and engineers are in charge.

I agree this screen is a confusing mess and beyond painful to manage even when you do take the time to understand how it works.

Also, it lists “Size to install” at the bottom for but still no sign of an option to do that.

Then there is this conundrum. I have a C152 Aerobat via 2024 and I can enable the 2020 C152 Aerobat?

I thought “they” said that people with the 2020 deluxe/premium aircraft would get the upgraded versions in 2024. Is this what that is?

Do I have two really different versions or do I have two of the same versions?

They have made a bit of a mess here.

for the 106, thats the total number of content packages above standard till aviator, so deluxe have 10 aircraft, premium 15, there is 10 airports as well, 30 aviator aircraft, and so on. all of this is listed with details.

as for why some content is disabled, yea the update did that & i don’t know why exactly, but you can reenable what ever you want.

as for different versions, there is a choice to enable old and new version with a warning of doing so, by default the new one is the one that is active. so there is no conflict.

I understand the total. If the 106 is just there to indicate a total, then why is there 106/106?

Normal parlance is that means this many of that many. I know I have 106, because that is the second number.

Maybe it’s counting the number of streamed items from the selected packages and it means you downloaded them all? And once those other packages pass testing that /106 will increase to a new number of available packages?

No, I don’t think so. I can activate all 106 of the items right now, if I desire. By default, the items that are 2020 (all the FF/LL and some airports) are disabled.

Adding to the confusion is the LL/FF/ES that I bought in 2020 are also included in the 2024 Aviator Edition.

Of those that I originally purchased in 2020, they appear as separate versions to those that are included in the 2024 packages – thus I have two versions of the same aircraft. What happens here if both versions are activated? Do I end up with two Junkers Ju 52, for example?

Right - not in front of my computer right now but I’ve seen streamed and active things that had a lesser number left of the slash because I had never been there or used the airplane.

My theory is “disabled” packages have no components to count so the right hand slash doesn’t account for them.
