(NDU registry change) Increase performance immediately! AMAZING!

So you are able to make nVidia’s driver run better than they can by a few simple steps? They should give you a job.

Read BlackSantas post it’s about removing unnecessary processes like It phoning home every couple of minutes.

Ah, it’s 1996 again and Black Viper’s service recommendations…

I just follow the instructions in the video I posted for every driver update. Go to 1:00 in the video. He shows his task manager. Then go to 9:30. There you’ll see all of the extra stuff that’s normally packed into the driver. Almost none of it is necessary. All bloat. The first time you do it, it may take you 10 minutes or so to get the process down. I’ve done it 5 times now. I can get through the entire process in a few minutes. There’s others who post a lot on the forum that do it too.

The two nVidia ‘containers’ in the shown Task Manager amount to just short of 13MB and never change from 0.0% CPU usage during the time it’s shown. Conversely his MSI tweak app is using more CPU.

Where exactly is the huge gain here? The ‘bloat’ is additional drivers that might very well be installed but will never be used if you don’t have the hardware that makes use of them.

I’m no PC expert by any means. I just know it’s worked for me and others. Not sure.

Placebo and confirmation bias.

I ask me why we again and again speak about the same placebo vidoe :joy:
( in special in a topic which is about a NDU registry change )

Let the users “believe on good” if they want believe and the YouTube Content creator ( allways the same ) earn the money from the Ads

…or I run GPU-Z on flights and save the results of my tests for comparison…

Indeed… Another tuber pulling in ad revenue for nothing.

Do you. My sim runs great(better than it did prior to the changes per the tests). Hope yours does too.

Yep thanks, never had an issue. One question - you said you’re not a computer expert but you trust a third party app to alter a driver and potentially falsify its security signature?
How do you know it hasn’t replaced one telemetry with another?

Umm…I have a community folder with 600+ items in it. If I were worried about third party apps, that worry passed many mods ago. I trust a lot of things in life to others that I’m not good at. I’m a banker, not a engineer, mechanic, plumber, etc. If I need to handle financial matters, I’m set. If I need my Audi repaired or my PC to run better, I go to a third party.

…and if I brick my PC, I’ll just buy a new one.

but in real, and it is not meant in bad way, .. dont trust all that youtubers ( in special one which report about performance and have a vsync-60 limit set ) and much more important the basic rule in big internet: trust nobody  ( okay.. exception: msfs community :joy: :joy: )

and we come with all of that just realy out of topic… there is no relation to the NDU registry change.

Solid advice. There are people in the forum I trust that posted about the NVIDIA tweak before I found that video. I did some digging and found major YT MSFS channels that were linking it. I wouldn’t ever just blindly do something.

One more. Tried it, game was a bit unstable, BUT the lag/jitter/frozen screens (with NO activity on the NIC) appear to have abated.

Ran in normal mode, seems to have taken - appreciate everyone’s input. Not a fan of messing with REGEDIT - worked its magic for me, on this fix.

(and - is it me or is it starting a tad bit faster, also?)

Thanks!

I took the trouble to test and untest the NDU fix and it did make a difference although nothing huge. We’ve had a few changes since then both in sim and Windows 11 and it may no longer be needed so I’ll test again along with the nearby NlaSvc fix that certainly did stop MSN randomly opening a browser even while I was in MSFS.

Hi, bought an Lenovo Legion 5 17ACH6H, Ryzen 7 5800H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, GeForce RTX 3070 and I’m happy. Depends on your settings you will get more than 30 FPS. 2D: High or Ultra settings. 3D/VR (my prefered mode): Low or Medium settings. I’m happy. But: without warranty!

Perhaps you will need a M.2 NVMe SSD to hold all 500+ GB addons. They said never put 3rd-party addons in C:\

Why not ? that seems to defeat the purpose of using an M.2 NVMe ssd !!
