Need Help with Developer FPS Info - Still in Red with New PC

Hi all - I am trying to run three 27" 4K monitors at 2560x1440 on a 7900x3D / 4080 and can’t get more than 12-14 FPS. No popouts, no Spacedesk, nothing else runnning.

See my screenshot for details. Have set graphics to run at 100% of frequency and half (where it is now) but no change. Have run through all options - including uninstalling/clean install of drivers, trying to use DirectX 12 (no go - 100% consistent CTDs). Any help or pointers appreciated!

Personal Comments and Observations

CPU is getting hammered - that’s what Main Thread means. GPU on the other hand is twiddling it’s thumbs.

Partial solution - start knocking down some of those High Settings to Medium or Low.

Edited to add - I’d honestly start with a Global Low or Medium Setting. TLOD at 200 is pretty aggressive. Baseline at a Global Setting. If you have headroom, then start moving up some settings to Medium.

What about the third slider in the settings?

Why everything on high? I have a 3060ti and I run high and medium and get 60-70 fps depending on field time also GSX (I’m also 1080p,vatsim with model matching) and a ryzen 7600x

How does it look with just one monitor?

Hi guys - thanks for responding.

On 1 monitor I can get 23-24 at 2560x1440. With the three 27 inch ones running 12-14. They are 4K monitors running at 2560x1440.

I’ve turned settings down but the only thing I am seeing affect FPS is Terrain LOD. All the other settings are marginal.

Warning: stupid question time!

I am unfamiliar with the effect of multiple screens but something seems very wrong here. I only have a Ryzen 7 3700X + 3080 (no OC) that I run on 4K, basically all Ultra, 300 Terrain LOD, 200 Object LOD and I typically get low40’s FPS with the worst of around or slightly below 30fps with a highly detailed airport with FSLTL active. The OP’s 7900x3D + 4090 setup is significantly more powerful than what I have, so why the very low framerate? Is the framerate additive over the 3 monitors (so 3 x 12.7 in the image) or how does that work? Even then: <40FPS with that level of hardware seems surprisingly low.

Hoping for enlightenment!

Something has to be incorrect- insane if I have to go low settings on a very high end PC.

What is the high ms reading on the Developer box - is that latency? And why so high when others are in 12-15 ms range? Thanks!!

Let’s do some thinking here, the gpu has to put on at 4k,each monitor,at high settings….also OP, check your community folder

He’s not telling that he’s telling you to fine tune your settings….Also forgot to ask this how are your community folders and task manager

According to that screenshot you are rendering at 1280x720.

I saw that too - but I have it rendering at 100% of 2560x1440. Doesn’t make sense to me.

Am going to clear out community folder and reboot again. Don’t know how to check the rendering issue though.

Did you try 1080p?

LOL no and won’t. Enjoy the higher graphics too much.

Honestly I don’t see a difference between 1080p and 4k, More fps and in some cases more detail….It might be a answer to your problems lol

Well never say never - to be honest I haven’t tried 1080p so should before I dismiss it. Thanks!

Also how’s your community folder and driver verision

Community was cleaned out and just did a full clean uninstall/reinstall, so drivers are current.

What driver verision
