Need suggestion with the tech upgrade

Hi,

my current laptop acer predator has rtx 2060 and it gave me 25/33FPS with Vsync on High/Ultra settings and suddenly GPU isn’t responding.
I am considering to upgrade my laptop this weekend as there’s a great sale. I dont have space for a PC so strictly looking for laptop.

I have 3 Options in budget.
1: Asus TUF I7-12700H with 32GB DDR4 Ram and RTX 4060
2: Acer Nitro I7-12650H with 32GB DDR4 Ram and RTX 3070TI
3: ASUS ROG Strix AMD Ryzen 9 5980HX, 12GB RX 6800M with 32GB RAM

Plus I am from India, the weather is always hot, the AMD will overheat alot here.
I am not fan of Acer much as my current predator GPU messed up in less than 3 years, i feel their laptop quality are pathetic.
What shall I go for?
I am happy with 1980-1080P resolution Ultra, need 35FPS stable with volanta and VATSIM on PMDG 738 or Fenix A320 at inbuilds EGLL, for heavy areas. I use Thrustmaster TCA Stick and Throttle, Would the frame generation cause any delay with controls in such heavy areas?

Which would be better? it’s so confusing to choose between 12GB DDR6 vs Frame Generation RTX4060 vs RTX 3070ti which can handle sim quite well but then its Acer :frowning:

Really confused and stuck in a loop. I need help, some opinions from someone who owns any of these laptop.

I know the feeling of Analysis Paralysis and I feel for you!

That is a tough call. They all have strengths and weaknesses.

My instinct would say you would be happiest with the first option.

  • 4060 should be enough for 1080p
  • I think it will run cooler than AMD as you said.
  • The CPU is quite a lot stronger. 33% faster (comparison: Intel Core i7-12650H vs Intel Core i7-12700H: What is the difference?)
  • The 12700H also wins against the AMD 5980HX (Intel Core i7-12700H vs AMD Ryzen 9 5980HX [cpubenchmark.net] by PassMark Software)
  • …so you can try to balance for 20-25 fps and use frame generation to make it smooth (40-50) to play. It will give you more configuration options to juggle things as you do need a good CPU as this is the main bottleneck.
  • BUT, not sure if 20-25 fps is enough to really get the “feel” of the aircraft well in terms of physics steps/calculations. This would be my main concern. Only one way to find out if it suits you!

Can you return it and get another one if you don’t like it?

P.S. I don’t own any of those laptops so you may want to wait for more replies!!

P.P.S I see you already managed 25+ fps on current laptop which is pretty amazing I suppose! So you could probably get stable 30 (60 with FG) which would be perfect.

I want to have my settings on All ULTRA if not maxed out.

No policies to return and get a new one, I will be purchasing this on EMI. I was expecting to get 35/40FPS on this atleast on fenix a320 + on ultra 1980-1080P and use payware airports + volanta and vatsim.
