New CIVA INS App in the EFB shows "App Unavailable"

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

The new CIVA INS App has appeared in the EFB with the new 1.9.12.0 Beta Build and was wanting to mess with it, but regardless of what aircraft I pick it shows up with the same “App Unavailable” prompt. I’ve also tried flights with a flight plan, without one, on the ground, and in the air and not seeing the app do anything.

I’ve tried the airliners, I’ve tried GA aircraft, and seeing the same unavailable prompt. So thought I’d make this report just in case something isn’t working right or it wasn’t supposed to release OR it’s a me not knowing what I’m doing with the app lol

Tested this on the PS5, but would imagine it’ll be doing the same on the other platforms as well. I’ll update this when I test it on the PC and XBOX.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

100% of the time opening the CIVA INS App

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Head into free flight and select an aircraft like an airliner (707, 747, ect)

  2. Open the EFB and select the CIVA INS App

  3. It’ll always say “App Unavailable” regardless of you having a flight plan, or if you’re in the air or not.

MEDIA

New CIVA INS App on the App page of the EFB

The “App Unavailable” screen you’ll see each time you open it.

If you select the Boeing 707 INS Variant you get the unavailable screen with a different text telling you to use the built in INS

Probably only works with the 707, no?

Nope, already have the 707 pictured above with that one being the INS Variant, but other 707 variants also show the same screen. So possibly the app has arrived a little too early haha

I saw in the Live stream a couple of days ago, Chris (WT) said something to the affect of “it’s not in the beta yet, but should be in the next release…”.
I’m not sure if he meant is wasn’t going to be in this release we got today B.14, and would be in the next one, or they expected it to be in B.14 and it didn’t make it. I would have thought if he knew they were releasing a new beta version two days after his appearance, he would have been a little clearer on which beta version he expected it to be released. Wouldn’t be the first time they’ve put something in the release notes that didn’t actually make the beta release.
I’ll try to check some other aircraft and see what I get.
Regards

I’m pretty sure that was in regards to the Ground Services app that they showcased in the stream with WT! Which is out now as well

It might be (and it’s more some guess than actual knowledge) that the app should only show whenever the new CIVA simobject attachment is used on an aircraft and that the 707 was not yet updated to utilize it.
