Can confirm this works with remembering your controls. A word of warning, when you delete your userdata configs, it will reset all of your controls and in game settings so you will have to reenter any key binds. It will NOT reset your career. I can’t confirm if the turning off the cloud sync helped or not, but if you follow the solution posted here, it will save your settings. If someone wants to test, simply rename your folder that has your current settings saved and do the cloud thing. Then, delete the new settings folder and rename your old save back to the default. That might keep your key bindings AND delete the old cloud save, meaning you wouldn’t have to reenter all of your keybinds.

Thanks for confirming this! This issue seems to be somewhat common and i no one else noted if career mode got reset.
I just went ahead a reset my steam cloud say per the MS article above and all is well.
Same here, only mouse and keyboard keep my custom profile by default.
I had to reselect my custom profile at each restart for honeycomb throttle, alpha flight, and rudder for all aircraft. press “set as default” is already set as default…
When I was on Windows 10, this problem was not present.
I experienced this as well until joining the SU1 public beta, which seems to have entirely resolved the issue for me.
It’s February and the “solution” concerned CTD’s. I don’t have CTD’s. I have a joystick configuration that will not become default no matter what I do. My profile is always there, applied to all aircraft, and set to be the default but when I load the sim the next day the joystick reverts back to the MSFS one that came with the sim. It never did this when the simulator was first downloaded at launch but does it every time now. Please fix this or show me a valid solution.
It is fixed in the upcoming Sim Update 1.
