New controller cursor / aim on PC

Hello Flight Simulator community!

I am writing to find out, if there is a way to remove the new controller cursor (image in attachment). It appears every time after I operate my plane with mouse and when I switch back to controller to fly, it can stay there for quite a while.

It is not a big issue but I preferred the immersion lot more before. On certain planes (even with cockpit interaction system set to legacy mode) it highlights certain panels as shown in screenshot.

I didn’t find any setting or any topic about this on how to disable it. Any ideas? Thanks!

Search this forum for “Legacy Mode” and you’ll find several threads about it.

Go to your General Settings → Accessibility → Cockpit Interactions. Switch this to Legacy.

My legacy mode is enabled but all it affects for me is removing glowing buttons - it does not remove the controller cursor for me. Should it disappear with the setting? Perhaps something in my game is broken.

Maybe you could clear your controller profile and start from a blank profile so you can rebind the keys and commands that you only use?

I tried both applying a new blank profile and using a default profile but the cursor still remains.

I have the same thing and have been using xbox controller since day 1, it must be something to do with xbox release as was not there before. Legacy mode make it easier to interact with cockpit buttons but does not remove white dot.

I don’t have any of these issues, but I don’t have a controller plugged in. There is probably something hardcoded that detects a controller, changing the interface, and you cannot disable it. I’ll bet it disappears if you fly the sim without a controller plugged in.

Yes true, it only appears after you have been moving mouse and the top menu appears. Mostly every time I click button in my cockpit and use controller to look around it appears. If I stop using my controller to look around for a while it disappears with the top menu, but to have that timeout I have not to use controller camera for a while. I am the player that uses controller in left hand and mouse in right to operate cockpit therefore for me its bit of a distraction.

Another bug I found similar to this with the latest update is that when you use your mouse freelook (holding down right button) the controller stops working. Sometimes I like to zoom around and for that period, my plane becomes uncontrolable.

Maybe it’s tied to the toolbar handle? I wonder if this would help. I use it, and I’ve never seen that center cursor.

Yes! It kinda seems to do the job, the cursor does still appear at times but it disappears much faster making it much easier to get rid of it. Thank you all for the help!

Whoever made this needs to upload the mod to flightsim.to.

There’s no way people would expect that addon to be found in this forum.

I don’t know if this is the same author, but it should do the same thing. I haven’t installed it since I’ve been using the one linked above since it was posted.

Yes, I found that also. But if you use the middle mouse to look around you can still fly the plane.
