Yes mate also works with VR, so feel free to share it with others.
I’ll take the liberty of posting the tutorial again below, as it might be helpful to someone.
Nvidia app is not required and in some cases, it may even be responsible for CTDs.
I decided to share what I did to get the latest DLSS models without using the Nvidia app, replacing game files or adding extra XML files.
If you want to see the DLSS version and “render preset” during gameplay, as shown in my screenshots, you’ll need to make changes in the system registry.
. You need to manually add an entry to the system registry. Copy the code below
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NGXCore]
"ShowDlssIndicator"=dword:00000400
paste it into Notepad and save the file as DLSS_Indicator.reg (not as a text file, this is very important). Then run the file and agree to make changes to the system registry.
Affirm. Still using the OpenXR Toolkit as the PimaxPlay tweaks just don’t perform as well for my system. Also handy to have the wide range of tweaks in toolkit to change on the fly. Good example is the sunglasses option. FS24 can be a bit bright in full sunlight. Also like the FPS advisory setting better than sim developer counter and can move position it in VR view.
This is best tutorial i found. Thank you. Can stop searching the webs.
this worked for me. thanks.
No nvidia app and with vd a good image.
My msfs 2024 never shows in dlls swapper so can not use it
i am still using oxrtk. Dont see any fps drops and the tweaks you can perform and fps counter is great. Its showing the real fps. Do you use the turbo mode still?
Works in VR. glass cockpit numbers with dlss 3.1.1 and preset J where ghosting terribly, now using dlss swapper to dlss 3.1.2 and nvidia profile inspector (see image) everything is very smooth, crystal clear. Happy flying now, even with performance mode, low settings.
If you used the manual option before then you should be using that again. The APP isn’t working properly for MSFS24 (store version). Just be sure to use Preset J (K has worse image quality in MSFS)
I used DDU in safe mode to uninstall my previous driver 560.94.
All seems to be working very well for me with msfs 2020 in VR using my QPro/rtx4090 with link cable, together with the same settings I was currently using, including running this with experimental dx12.
TBH, I can’t say this is a game changer, like I’m sure some YouTubers will soon say, lol!. I have noticed a little better cockpit and distance clarity, plus slightly smoother performance. Although all these were already pretty good.
Thanks for your simple instructions that even a 70yo senior could follow, lol! Cheers.
