nvidia Profile Inspector set both MSFS and global to J
Remove DLSS Tweaks.
I felt that with dlss tweaks there was not much improvement, after removing it I could see difference. In the h125 the line that go around the FLI buttons were always blurry. After removing tweaks they are looking great.
I’m only about 3 weeks into setting up my simulator and I’m really new to this. So please forgive the basic question. But where do I put these files? I’m running Win 11, MSFS 2024, and Nvidia 566.45 drivers. The Reddit post says to put these dll’s and the .xml in the installation folder, but I can’t seem to find the folder with anything similar in them on my machine.
I think its working now. I did the following steps -
Removed DLSS tweaks, and the various files that came with it
Replaced the nvngx files with the newest ones from that download site I got of the reddit link
Downloaded the profile inspector from another link from the reddit thread, this is the link further down the thread though which mentions something about a fork.
Changed the name and the hex value via the custom settings file.
Set both the global and FS2020 DLSS in profile inspector to J (they showed the new hex value on the right hand side.)
Mine differed slightly from the pictures above, in the profile inspector picture I note that the nex value is displayed in the preset box but I just had the various letters, it was displayed on the right though. Does that matter.
A few questions about it though, do we still use the performance setting in DLSS, I’ve found the best results come from getting the resolution up as high as it will go via XR tools (purple) then using a lower DLSS setting, its worse if I lower XR tools and use quality instead. I’m currently at 300% with the new DLSS file but I could go to 400% on the older one using performance and F.
Also does it matter which driver you use with the new DLSS file? I’m not keen on these newer ones and I think it was a lot smoother using an older driver.
I have tried the new drivers with the right settings in the Nvidia profile inspector.
For MSFS2020 it worked, but improvement was marginal and FPS dropped a few %.
In MSFS2024 i had vibrations on the sides of the screen, a border of about 1 cm wide. There was a little improvement visible but for me disappointing because of the distortion on the sides of my screen.
DLSS 4 is the best thing that has happened to Flight sim in years, Since Eric Ernst’s PIC 767. You have the benefits of TAA with the performance of DLSS. The annoying shimmering is completely gone, the gauges are crisp and clear. In VR this is bloody amazing. Im shocked. Fantastic work Nvidia. I have been waiting for this since I started VR in Xplane in 2010? I dont remember. I dont even remember dinner.
Okay, Yes DLSS 4 is amazing.
Downloaded the Beta
Updated DLSS swapper to 310.1
Nvidia inspector, added the file, J setting
DLSS even in Performance mode blows away TAA for me!
wow. If you havent give it a shot. Def makes 2024 fun again!
[IslandSimPilot] has a walk through if you need the steps!
Anyone tried this on a 1440p screen in quality mode? I’m still seeing blurry displays and a ton of ghosting. Very frustrating not knowing if I set it up correctly or not since it’s not actually possible to know if the sim is running DLSS 4 or not.
I run DLSS 4 (310.1.0.0) and in balanced mode with a very slight blur on the displays of the airbus a321 Neo. BUT this is way less then the previous version and is still readable in normal flight, so no crazy hard turns fast decants. even when it is kind off blurry i can still make out what it should be. but weird thing is when zooming in it works perfectly and no blur.
Not testet yet in DLAA mode tho which i will be doing.
