This morning I see through DLSS swapper that is available a new DLSS dll v310.3 (release and debug).
I’ve not tested yet.
Moved out from Sim Update 3 Beta | MSFS 2024 > Install, Performance & Graphics since not SU3 related.
Looking forward to hearing from the guinea pigs
so anyone tested it ?
Just switched my DLSS override from Preset k to Latest in the NVIDIA app. Will put up a flight this afternoon.
this release promises lower vram usage
Isn’t preset K the latest? It is on my app.
Apparently still so.
Switching to Preset K or Latest in the Nvidia app, the sim is still using DLSS 310.2.1.
I used DLSS Swapper this morning to download 310.3, just in case that might happen.
I did also, including FG 310.3, I told myself I would never use DLSS swapper since Nvidia included the latest presets in the app. But now since it’s easy to revert back, and I like to tinker I gave it a go.
I did a few quick tests and in my case 310.3 isn’t as smooth as 310.2.1. We know how the servers can have performance differences day to day and sometimes even between sim launches, so it could be that.
I think Asobo has to integrate 310.3 on their end for better performance.
I had to select “Use The 3D Application” setting to get 310.3 to work, which makes sense.
Wait, if the game devs have not yet integrated 310.3, should we not make the other selection in the NVIDIA app, the override setting and not Use the 3D Application setting, which I take to mean the setting in the game?
In one of their Dev Streams they were aware we were using DLSS Swapper and things to change DLSS versions. They mentioned something about having to integrate DLSS with their code for best performance.
Having said that, DLSS 310.3 is working in the sim if using the “Use The 3D Application” setting.
If using Latest or Preset K the sim will use 310.2.1. So no problem experimenting and switching between 310.3 and 310.2.1 in the Nvidia app.
Before using DLSS Swapper, the sim would use the default 310.1 if the “Use The 3D Application” setting was selected.
So yes I recommend using Preset K, but it’s ok to leave 310.3 installed if you didn’t like 310.1, which I was never fond of.
Ok so I have it backwards now. Will make the change in the NVIDIA app, thanks.
310.3 is very good
BTW, it is v310.3 preset C.
Very confusing indeed.
Are you sure that for 310.3 preset is C?
use profile inspector to force preset K and from nvidia app check " use 3d application settings "
I’ve just done some tests with the 310.3 using DLSS Swapper and Nvidia 576.88. I set the NPI to preset K but without overriding the DLSS. Testing in KEWR I came to the conclusion that it generates a series of stutters every 10 or 15 seconds… the feeling is that it gets quite “heavy”. When I set the NPI to override the DLSS the stutters disappear. It’s a very easy test to do and check the results and in my case the 310.3 is much worse.
The following screenshots were taken at a small airport and from the runway.
This is with Preset C:
This is with Preset K:
And this is with the default 3D application setting which is the same as preset E.
After using DLSS Swapper to use the latest 310.3
This is preset C:
And preset K:
And finally using the 3D Application default setting which again is preset E.
I no longer use NVPI as I have no use for it. I only use the Nvidia App to change these settings. And in fact I no longer use DLSS Swapper. But I did to show you and others what I am seeing and have confirmed.
