The De Havilland DHC8 Q400 Package V1 is an FSX conversion using the default CJ4 VC and the default KingAir350 engine sounds.
A lot of work went into producing a good quality aircraft. The original public domain model from Dreamwings has been extensively updated to make the most of the new MSFS graphic engine. All textures have been resized to 2048x2048px (HD), including all new alpha layers. Every single texture has been converted to DDS format and saved as DXT5. Some custom lights have also been created to make the Dash 8 as impressive at night than in the day. My favourite feature has to be the transparent cabin windows so the cabin interior is actually visible at all times!
All the configuration files in the package have had a lot of work done to them too. The aircraft flies beautifully at any altitude and during flight phases, cruising around 290 knots, nice and steady, without any trim required.
The aircraft is not perfect by any means and certainly does not pretend to be a so called “study level”. It is what it is, but more importantly It was fun to make and I love flying it.
This package V1 contains 11 past and present liveries. Check-out the screenshots below.
