After 6 weeks of trying to get my new G2 to work without worsening issues, it finally stopped working completely. I see the adapter no longer works as the green light doesn’t even come on anymore, and the Portal keeps asking me to connect headset. I tried changing outlets to no avail. It’s been 3 days and I cannot get through to HP Canada. After on hold for so long, they robo ask what department and when I say Headset, they say they are not taking calls at this time! Same on their website! For days now. They had refused to send me the new cable when I complained months ago. They sent me a new headset instead lol! I feel like I bought a bad expensive watch from a street vendor, with no recourse.
I pressed the number for printers or something then got put through to the right person. (UK)

After a long telephone conversation with a helpful and courteous HP rep, I was sent a new cable and junction box. My new junction box has a power button on it My connectivity issues disappeared upon installation of the new cable. My G2 (and old cable) was an early model as I ordered it when they first became available.
I too finally got a hold of a rep an hour ago. Had to call through their Business number (products under warranty). He immediately apologized and sent me out a new cable! Should receive it tomorrow. My confidence in HP is restored.

I have a new V2 cable scheduled to arrive tomorrow, hoping it fixes my blackouts in my Reverb G2. I got the headset when it was first released. I tried every USB port I have, plus the powered ones, all to no avail.
Just got mine today (18 hrs after speaking with rep). Unfortunately, same stuttering issues. I’m gonna try turning on HAGS and tweaking some Nvidia settings. Just exhausting already!
Are you running OpenXR Developer Tools for Steam VR and have it set ? It does wonders for the G2 and this sim.

Of recent days my G2 headset blacks out. I loos all vision, even though the monitor still shows me in VR mode. It started since I downloaded the CRJ900/1000. Is it a coincidence the new aircraft is causing this or is it my headset. I tried to get onto HP and ended up speaking with someone via whatsapp who also told me that the area that deals with headsets are only available during business hours. I am waiting for a reply.
If it was ok before, and the only thing you did was add that addon, I’d think it’s too coincidental to be anything else. But I get black flashes at startup since SU6, and if I dare to exit VR during a session, it ctd. Hopefully next weeks update will help some of these issues.
Well I have to say after contacting HP they identified the issue and sent me a new stronger cable and power box. It arrived today (2 days after my call - I’m impressed). The only issue now is that each time I load MSFS and commence a flight I am getting ctd’s.
When I got my G2, I ordered a new cable immediately before the installation. Because I heard so many problems about the old cable, which is always delivered. But I also needed many times to get the right service manager. But after 2 days I got the new cable and it works perfectly if I start all in the right way.
I spoke to 7 people over a 4 day period at HP, partly as i got cut off but the process was painful, once i got the right person though they understood what i was on about regards new cable, bigger breakout box with power button etc. Seems HP posture like a goliath of a company with its “go to website” at the top of its agenda aka help yourself first which is very frustrating and time consuming. I’m waiting for the cable this week after several connection problems started after a good couple of days when i started using the G2
My new cable is working well, no disconnects and less stutters. Now everything seems to be working great! Very little to no stutters anymore while panning around. In heavy traffic areas it still stutters, but much less than before. I don’t get it, it always is so smooth and perfect the day before an update. Always!
Then…bang, update causes new set of issues.
Like the Boy who Cried Wolf, I don’t react to an update with glee anymore.
I recommend, the GPU and CPU not to push too hard. It’s better, not all controls push to the right end. Choose the standard solution, and make then little steps to find the performance of your system.
As expected, WU7 was filled with bugs. Some of my switches in the Cessna’s don’t work anymore. Must press CTR 0 to get mouse to work in taskbar. Overall it’s ok. I’m getting nice smooth performance now. Still needs some work. Small minor stutters but much improved. It’s slowly getting better!
