New Geforce driver 465,89

New pilots available

please don’t put this boot in before I try to make people happy

No disrespect intended, but what does a new driver have to do with your statement ?

Well, your typical “new driver available” post is made by someone who is looking to see if anyone has tried it as they don’t want to try it for themselves for some reason.

Not sure if its a good idea or not to try it when you look at the known issues:

[VR]: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 VR may stutter if Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling
is disabled. [3246674]

Not that i fully know what that means

To piggyback on hobanageriks pic…That’s located in ‘Settings’ - ‘Gaming’ - then to the right side of the page click on ‘Graphic settings’

Ah that one…Yes, I had to turn that off for another game I do, so a bit of a pain restarting your pc every time you want to play FS

On that same page is an option below it:

hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling actually kills performance in MSFS unless you are in VR.
If you don’t use VR just turn it off guys.

So I should see a benefit from disabling this in non-VR when I look at my in-game frame rate counter? An easy benchmark to do. I seem to remember an old conversation from last year that enabling HAGS didn’t yield any significant benefits, but I don’t remember reading about any negatives either.

Hello,
I put this in PC & Hardware, which is where discussions of CPUs, memory, graphics cards and drivers, etc. takes place.

How is this driver for this sim on a 30 series card…Worth downloading ?

What the hell are you trying to say?

I don’t understand why a new thread is opened for every new driver. At least THIS THREAD discusses current drivers in a meaningful way. I also did not understand what the thread starter wants to say here.

I can tell you why. Because everyone wants to know what its like without taking any “risk” by not installing it themselves. There seems to be some mysticism around drivers, where users daren’t touch anything on their system in case it breaks something. So they ask instead. “Have you tried it yet?” “Is it any good?” etc.

The only way to know for absolutely sure whether it is okay on “your” system is to try it yourself. And if it doesn’t work out, then simply revert to the old version. It would be great if we didn’t go down the 40k route of praying to machines, and burning incense.

Quite Right ! We’ve just Up Dated to 465.89 from our beloved and much esteemed 457.30 and have no issues. CPU is running Cooler,FPS is slightly improved and Definition in Textures also.
We have a ‘High End’ System with a Founders 2080 ti and don’t use VR.
457.30 did sterling work but has finally been put to Rest.

ps. Thanks for your Post Revil. Now go and put the Kettle on,… crack open a bar of Chocolate and get back to some Flying. Cheers m Dear !

Yup!..everyone should have their own unique experiences…:100::+1::face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Yes, these questions keep popping up in the other thread and I think that’s normal. As Rozellespi says so well, you can only answer this if you simply install the driver and try it yourself. But must always open a new thread for this? The forum search works after all. It’s not that difficult. But now I still do not know what the thread starter actually wanted to say. How does he want to make people happy? What does he have in mind? Do I have to be afraid?

Hardly anyone seems to use it, sadly, but it’s not restricted to this forum in any way.

I’ve lost count of the number of duplicate threads that have been created that the poster would have been able to answer their questions themselves with a simple search. Some people just seem find it easier being given the answers rather than search them out themselves.

I’ve had some fun with the passive aggressive “Let me Google that for you” site. I wonder if there is a Bing version…

Yep!

Not quite as cheeky as the Google original.

I was just trying to open a discussion about the new GeForce engine and gather the discussion in one place without having to open more than one discussion to search for the information you want if you don’t like it and like to have more than one.

Anyway, when I open a discussion to get help or like this I never get an answer or I’m put down like I was before.

The discussion would be shorter if there were no little comic to talk to me for nothing.
