New Honeycomb Alpha arrived today! Wow!

My Alpha yoke arrived today and on first impressions it’s an absolute beauty.

I’ve been using the Saitek pro flight for quite a while now and it’s a great value yoke.

Main differences with the new one are the better rotation and resistance feeling. Rubberised handles feel nice and a plethora of customisable buttons & rockers to get it set up perfectly.

Switch panel addition is nice add on the GA planes too. Still using my Saitek throttle quadrant but think this will be changed to new Bravo once available.

Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a yoke.

Been away from flight simming since FS9 and not having a computer capable. I brought home the Honeycomb when I purchased the new PC, my first gaming PC.

I initially tried to load up FS9 or FSX but it was so horrid looking I didn’t do anything with it. Previously have always used a joystick. The Honeycomb blew me away. It’s freakin awesome!

I love all the switches as well. I thought they would be a gimmick, but they are fantastic. The only thing I have to look down in the cockpit for is for the fuel pump prior to starting and the fuel selector switch. Everything else is being done with my various old controllers and joysticks attached along side the Honeycomb.

I picked up the last one at my local Microcenter last week, love flying with it.

Back in the 90s I had an Inland yoke, got rid of that when game ports went away, so nice to be flying with a yoke again.

Yesterday my Trustmaster throttle arrived, only one I could find in stock anywhere, it too bad it’s only really useful as a left hand throttle if you want to use all the hat switches. I may update it to a throttle quadrant at some point, we’ll see.

No rudder pedals in stock anywhere right now so it will be a while until I can complete my new flight sim controller setup.

I’ll still occasionally use my old sidewinder pro joystick for quick setups.

For those with the yoke, do you notice the pitch axis stop limits are a thud unlike the roll stop limits? I want to know if this is normal or not…

Can you explain more about what you mean by “a thud”?

On mine the pitch axis has a much stiffer bungee cord on it so it’s much harder to push or pull it to the end stops vs. the roll axis that is quite easy to rotate to the ends.

When the pitch axis reach the stops, it sounds/feels like it’s metal on metal where as the roll axis feels like it hits up against rubber on the stops.

Yup mine does this too, it’s normal.

Well, I used to fly Piper Tomahawks (very) many years ago … on the ‘full and free’ check, they would ‘thud’ on max elevator … just like the Honeycomb

Just checked mine, it’s the same.

Well good, I’m glad this is normal! Thanks guys!

I’ve only moved to the stops when running a calibration check in windows. Am I flying it wrong?

Nice setup! I kinda impulse bought the Honeycomb throttle yesterday. Week 6 build. I’ve heard so many good things and couldn’t resist. I have the TCA Airbus sidestick and the Airbus throttles previously ordered but not shipped yet. Now I’m trying to decide if I should keep the Airbus throttles or cancel that order!

Keep ‘em all I say! Thrustmaster for the 320 and Honeycomb for TBM :grinning::grinning:

That’s what I was thinking, too! I still have plenty of prop and jets to fly in X-Plane and P3D too so would get a workout for sure.

The Trustmaster Quadrant included with the left and right addons are much better quality and realistic for the Airbus airliners then the Honeycomb Alpha. The price is in the Netherlands €99+€89 that’s €188 for the complete set. It works fine with MSFS2020.
