Pretty fair review. I’ll be interested to hear how it improves with future releases but so far it looks like a “no” from me at that price…
Tough one really, lots to be improved upon but then it’s not the “final product” - yet we have a rather fantastic PMDG DC6 which I absolutely love. Glad you enjoyed the video
Thanks for the review.
I don’t buy early access anymore. Too often with other stuff “early access” meant “only access”. And we also had several aircraft already where the devs said, they’d fix it and never did.
Now we have a WIP aircraft from a company with little street cred when it comes to aircraft. But still it costs almost the same as the finished product by PMDG - one of the most prestigeous aircraft developers in the business.
Sorry but that doesn’t work for me. I won’t pay € 50,- for an unfinished product. If they sell it as a WIP/Early Access they can charge 30,- or maybe 35,- for it in the state it’s in. Or what will be their planned price for the finished aircraft? 70,-? 80,-?
It is honestly trash and devs need to stop this trend , this paid for “product” is lightyears behind most freeware ones on Flightsim.to
I don’t know the devs personally but hope they can engage with us here as to help us understand the thinking behind the pricing and also their view on developing for the platform but yea… A poor attempt.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
Plenty to be improved upon and when it’s a comparison to the PMDG DC6 (intentionally due to the price being the same) then there is no competition at all sadly. Too much lacking and as you said yourself - I too am not a fan of this release method of buying an expensive aircraft add-on in the hope it ends up completed to a high level like the DC6. I’d rather them finish it entirely, demonstrate it then sell it
Hope you found my review helpful, honest and fair
I took the plunge and bought it soon after release. SU 7 stuffed a few things up which have been remedied through a second version. I think the engine sounds need more work- they lack the ‘throaty’ resonance of the PMDG DC6 (which I also have). Lacking DME is a real issue which I hope is addressed in future. Also, a GPS option to cater for long, trans-Atlantic flights would be invaluable. I had no problem setting custom views through the normal way (Ctrl Alt then a number between 1 and 0) so I’m not sure why you can’t. But I agree the pilot viewpoint is too low which I have fixed by assigning a custom view. FPS is very good and the cockpit has a nice ambience to it, especially with the night lighting on. I am optimistic for the future development. I think the devs know that if they drop the ball on this, they needn’t bother coming Monday.
I must ask Charles , did you see a review on it and still decide to buy it? I also because the reviews showed it to be spectacularly poor.
No, I bought it soon after release. Even today there are very few video reviews of the product. A bit of a gamble I know. But we’re not talking sheep stations here. It’s about fifty bucks.
Sadly I tried to get a review out myself earlier but SU7 quickly came and broke it, so I decided to give the developers time to remedy/fix the mod before even trying to take a first look
Hear, hear. I’m on the fence (have not yet purchased) but am tempted…
OMG…Purchased this thing last night. I wanted to see for myself. I have to say that the posters here are right on the money with this one. This plane is a train wreck. It’s got some real issues. It’s kind of on par with an Xplane freeware A/C. If you are flying MSFS after having Xplane for a while you know what I mean. Night and day quality difference.
So I shelled out the dough so that you would not have to…NOT WORTH THE MONEY folks! I hope these guys can get it together because this plane has potential. But at present, it’s just terrible.
Also: I cannot seem to get the flaps to 0%. They get close but are open just a tiny bit all of the time. And…Can’t get the landing gear up no matter what I do. Key commands don’t do it, and it won’t work even when I assign it to my quadrant.
Hm a not-PMDG-Fenix-A2A-Carenado plane. I am always looking forward to see reviews about payware planes, but get disappointed every time. All this stuff looks like FSX freeware from the year 2005 or so, low polygon 3D meshes skinned with blurry 256x256 textures…
