New MSFS 2020 - Cessna L-19 Bird Dog to be released today

Graham, any plans to do another one for MSFS (just not the Airbus, please)? Or one has proved to be enough of a pain? Haha!

You may be surprised when a new Twin Prop Arrives sometime

Is there going to be an update to the Bird Dog floats or will it stay kaput for all time?

Please explain what you think is required ?

Thank you for your reply. I like flying the Islander very much and also would like to use the Bird Dog float version. The water dynamics on the default C172, although not perfect, are a great improvement to those of the Bird Dog. The default aircraft were upgraded after the last game update but I see no improvement in the Bird Dog. So to answer your question directly I think that what is required is an upgrade to the water dynamics ie. the water rudder for steering on water, to a level similar (or better  ) than the default models.

Iā€™m sorry, did I say something silly?

Iā€™d say your answer is reasonable-ish. I would expect he is probably investigating and verifying your comment before he answers. Stuff like this takes a lot of time to figure out. You arenā€™t very specific in what you think needs to be upgraded. Just saying, and Iā€™m paraphrasing here, ā€œthe C172 has better water dynamics than the bird dogā€ really doesnā€™t say much at all, if anything. Whatā€™s better?

Are are you saying you like how the water rudder works better, and thatā€™s it? What does ā€œsimilar or betterā€ mean?

I recently left a comment in one of the other Bird Dog forums.
As this thread seems more active at the moment I thought Iā€™d just drop a link to my
original comment.
Just curious - has anyone else previously mentioned the interior prop sound loop?

I very much hope that you are correct when you say it is being investigatedā€¦I was hoping that the developer would fire up the default C172 floats and compare the water steering ability of the Bird Dog. It barely turns at all on water and the water rudders make no difference whatsoever making it unusable as a float plane. I had a mod which corrected this for the C172 but the default aircraft have been upgraded weeks ago. I was hoping that the developer would be happy to do the same but he states that development on the Bird Dog has finished and they are busy with new projects. To be specific : The water rudders have NO effect and it is impossible to try and recreate anything near real world water taxying. (The code needed to achieve this is straightforward)

Thatā€™s a much better description. In the future, make sure you describe whatever your issue is in great detail. No one can read your mind. I didnā€™t really know what you meant from your first post. It sounded more to me like you didnā€™t like how it rides in the water or something, or maybe it doesnā€™t get up on a step. Your first post basically only said the C172 Water dynamics are better. Who knows what that means?

I think I might have previously posted a link or 2 to some real-life Bird Dog sounds on YouTube. They didnā€™t have that prop sound loop.

Yep - here it is:
