I only noticed the version number 20 minutes ago. Within the last 2 hours not-installed content has appeared in the Library:
Which suggests we can install stuff permanently - just what we want.
Selection works, but there is no install button. Given the start I don’t blame Asobo for being cautious!
Thank you, I was waiting for this message. I wouldn’t want to stream all day and every day. I’d rather wait a day to download things locally…
Please… correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve seen posts that essentially say that everything from 2020 marketplace is now pre-installed in 2024. You can’t install because it’s already installed. Every 2020 airport, every scenery enhancement, everything. Have two or three of the same airport? They’re all installed and piled on top of each other as of this morning from what I read.
Can anyone verify this? I gave up and went for a refund
This doesn’t sound right, the whole point of the streaming model this was to reduce the install footprint. 3rd party content can be quite large. This would be a absurd approach

Honestly I feel like I’m posting in the Twilight Zone. None of this makes ANY sense.
100% this is exactly what is happening. ALL CONTENT purchased via Marketplace in 2020 is now being “streamed” into 2024 automatically, with no option yet available to disable any of this content. You can view everything that’s being streamed in My Library, and you can select individual items, but there is no way of disabling any of it. This has actually rendered 2024 unusable for me, as any/all past scenery purchases (whether working/compatible with 2024 or not) are being streamed over eachother in one gigantic ugly mess. They really need to get on top of this issue ASAP and allow users the option to disable 2020 content… This is game-breaking for users with a large amount of scenery content from the Marketplace, especially for content that applies universally (static aircraft addons, airport texture addons, etc.).
I think it is too early to speculate how data assets are being handled; especially as the 2024 Library assets changed this afternoon (I think).
I just checked, the facts I can find are:
2020 reports I do have European Cities 1 and 2 installed (in Content Manager)
2024 reports I do not have European Cities 1 and 2 (in Library)
I just think it is encouraging that Asobo are adding 2024 assets daily.
Seriously? No way. I mean, of course it’s happening but what an unbelievably absurd design choice from every angle.
THIS has to be one of their biggest design flops from every standpoint from bandwidth to user experience.
To keep this topic on track - the 2024 Marketplace does not exist yet.
I’m reporting on the 2024 Library which appears to mimic the 2020 Content Manager i.e. the free stuff from Asobo.
Also the Library is changing dynamically - I’ve returned from a quick bite to eat and the City Updates and Spotlight are gone.
Now 5 planes are listed as not installed - as far as I know the Library change was automatic.
They could be the 2024 versions of Asobo planes, many 2020 versions have been streamed already, but only half of the Premium/ Premium Deluxe so far.
(My speculation is that Asobo are slowly rolling out planes and scenery)

I have this same question. I imported airports I had from 2020 and they just show up as not installed, they aren’t visible in the sim. I have no option to install them, why would I care to see stuff it won’t let me install. What a strange design choice. Did yours just randomly install after waiting?
I can’t tell as I left the career mode loading an airport…literally overnight and the screen never changed. Process memory was at 8GB and I killed it from Task Manager.
Just restarted and all the Not Installed items have gone, it looks like extra 2024 planes have been streamed. But the planes grouped under “MFSF 2020 Premium/Deluxe/Premium Deluxe” are all not streamed today. Yesterday half were streamed but grayed and marked disabled.
The Asobo 2024 787-10 has appeared - that’s what I inherited from 2020 Premium Deluxe (PD); I bought 2024 Standard so the promise of upgraded 2020 PD planes is being met. I have 76 planes in total, all with pictures, many with liveries.
I guess there is no need for the original 2020 PD Asobo planes in 2024 - they are obsolete.
I have a number of "Not Installed " items in My Library.
I have selected them all and restarted the sim. No luck…they are all still marked as “Not Installed”. These items included Premium Upgrade, Aircraft and Airports.
Any advice?..I have tried searching but can’t find a solution.
Yes this comment ASAP. I got a ton of rubbish being injected into the sim all at once. Static aircraft, terrible airports all the junk on top of each other. I cannot sort my gfx settings with all these being in the sim. What a crazy decision to allow this
When the Marketplace becomes available, you will have the option to stream an addon (streamed), to install it locally (installed), or to ignore it (not installed). Unfortunately for some reason, that needs the Marketplace active in order to do it.
That’s not encouring given the timeline for the marketplace is weeks…bizarre oversight
If it’s weeks then I’m doomed with all the add-ons being in the sim there so many were I transferred from Xbox to pc mostly badly optimized rubbish
The sim patch scheduled for the week starting 9th Dec should help you.
You will be able to enable/disable library items.
