To those that are reporting good or improved performance with the new driver, can you please tell us which GPU you are using.
Thanks.

I just did a test with my RTX2060super.Clean install of 466.83 coming from 457.30.First thing I noticed.
My sim ran slower and the card was downclocking to 1200mhz.Reinstalled 457.30 and the sim is running back to normal.
As of right now I will forever stay with 457.30 unless I get a new GPU or when the sim undergoes a major change like DX12.
CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3500 6-core: GPU - GeForce GTX1650 4GB VRAM: 64GB RAM:
1TB SSD system plus 1TB Mcve for MSFS and peripherals. Additional ext HDDs for storage.
Samsung curved 27" monitor 1920/1080 71hz plus a second Acer I use for things like Little Navmap, a VFR map etc.
Most of my graphics settings are on medium with some tweaked to high and an odd ultra where I’ve proved it isn’t affecting the sim. With the improved performance I might try tweaking a few more.
I understand the purists who like to see high quality etc. but in my experience it doesn’t reflect real life. In over 1000 hours of PPL I rarely saw conditions so perfect as some of the screenshots, so to me it is that bit more realistic. But that’s my opinion.
For some it’s still a thing. Nvidia changed something after 457.30 that causes problems for some upgrading past 457.30.
I wasn’t able to upgrade until I rebuilt Windows using a fresh windows.iso. A rebuild using my 4-5 year old install media did not fix whatever the issue was with newer drivers but new install media did. I also noticed a number of new options in the Windows security and privacy menus with the new install from new media. There do seem to be differences in Windows 10 installs depending on the version of install media used despite full updates.
I don’t know why it took a new windows.iso to fix the issue for me but now I can upgrade and am using the last Nvidia driver before this new one just fine.
But in my case the 457.30 thing was very real. Anything newer turned FS2020 into a slideshow. Now it’s fine. Microsoft and Nvidia need to sort it out but it worked for me.
I now have a couple of hours using this driver and with my 3090, this is the best one so far. I was using 457.30 for a very long time, skipping all the new versions. Then I decided to try out 466.27 which performed very similar to 457.30. With this latest version, 99% of the small micro-stutters I had in some situations seem to be gone.
I’m really happy to see how Nvidia finally seem to have found a bit of interest in the flight simulator arena. With the freeware pack they released for was it Taipei IIRC in collaboration with Orbx, that also is a very good sign IMO and adds to how Nvidia now is more interested to make sure their drivers work well also for this type of titles. Never heard of them doing anything for this community before the freeware pack with Orbx.
This seems to be a very good time for all of us enjoying simulated flight and I’m sure it will only get better and better!
Nvidia seems to have a track record where new drivers pose issues on older cards but not the case for anyone.Unlike AMD that keeps the latest drivers fully functional even on their older cards.
The latest drivers ruined my rtx2060super.
The biggest difference I noticed with the latest driver it caused the sim to lag.
I’m hearing cases with others having BSOD on the latest drivers with their order cards.

Installed RAM 32.0 GB
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
GeForce RTX 2010 Super
Driver Version 466.63

Today my frame rates have been in the high 40s and low 50’s … it’s unbelievable.
mine got better when I updated Nvidia GeForce_Experience to version 3.22.0.32
No technical issues with the new driver (RTX 3070).
I was curious and did some comparisons with the 457.30, setting up several identical static scenarios with stock and custom scenery and planes. Changed the drivers between tests as well.
Was surprised that the older driver still always was about 5 fps ahead. Didn’t do any tests like that flying because it’s harder to get identical scenarios.
That is crazy
For my 1080ti this new driver are better than the 457.30.
Was using 457.30 on my 2070 Super card.
I installed the new drivers on Friday (4th June), performance wise I can’t see any difference but the clouds just don’t look as good (and yes I did check to make sure the game settings and the nvidia settings were the same).
Just reverted back to 457.30 and all is well again.
true the clouds are very pixelated with the new driver, I will go back to 457.30
Same here, looks horrible in my opinion
Yep clouds are borked
I rolled back the latest driver to 457.30.
I observe quite a drop in temperature, with the latest one I got quite fast in areas of 72-74°C.
With 457.30 I just had 59-62°C during the flight.
Didn’t help the massive stutter on ground, but the temps dropped a lot
I have the exact same issue occurring with newer drivers. Worse performance and way worse temps. So you’re not alone.
On my 9700k + 2080 ti, 466.63 comes close to 457.30, but still not close enough. 457.30 is still the clear winner when it comes to smoothness.
I applied now what some people suggested:
Refresh rate in the Nvidia panel to 30 FPS
Locked to 30 FPS in the sim. Seems this is a good workaround for my 60hz 4K monitor concerning the bad stutters since recent updates.
Less choppy looking at the horizon and temps down to 59-60 when turning
