Hi starting a new job in July so decided to get a new pc for gaming & my work in multi-instance emulation and virtualisation and thought it would be best to ask due to this being the most demanding pc game so if i can run this great i can run anything else i need.
These are the specs im thinking about to future proof as much as possible
RTX 5090
9800/ 9950X3D and X870e motherboard or 14900k/Z790 to suit
360/420mm AIO CPU cooler
96GB+ of DDR5-6000+ CL30-
3x 4GB+ Gen4+ SSD (Applications/Documents/Games)
1x 4GB+ Gen5+ SSD (Windows 11 pro installed on this
1200W+ quality PSU
Case that fits everything and has touch screen and/or no side panel
Things that i am still uncertain about
CPU: 9950x3d seems to best the best all rounder however in benchmarks both the 9800x3d (especially with access to the unlidded verson) and 14900k ( due to the higher core & thread count) seems to outperform it in the applications i personally use.
Case I am very tempted by the HYTE Y70 T0UCH due to the touch screen but unsure how optimal it will function with the chat Applications i use (teams/slack/signal/whatsapp/telegram) and unsure if it is worth sacrificing a 420mm radiator for.
Monitors is it true 4 is the maximum amount of monitors i can run on a gaming gpu if not what ways can i run more.
These are the parameters ive choosen so far

Any help would be much appreciated.
Here is what I just built.
CPU: AMD 9950x3D
Ram: Gskill FlareX DDR5-6000 (cl30) 2x32 64gig
Cooler: LianLi AIO 360
MB: MSI Mag 870E Tomahawk WIfi
SSD: Samsung 990Pro 4tb NvME
GPU: Zotac RTX 5090 Solid (actually had one in stock!)
Case: Montech Air 905
PSU: MSI 1200W
With a 2 year replacement warranty on the GPU it set me back @ $5300 US
Just curious - what do you need 96GB of RAM for? Also, what’s the reason for getting a case with a touchscreen? Seems like an unusual choice, unless you have a specific use in mind.
When it comes to Windows, you might be able to save quite a bit. Instead of paying something like 200 AUD / 110 EUR, you can often find legit license keys for much cheaper online. In the EU, for example, it’s even legal to buy used licenses - and they work just fine.
One more thing: I’d recommend avoiding ASROCK motherboards.
Since you’re planning to use 4 NVMe drives, something like the MSI X870E Tomahawk WIFI would be a solid choice.
IMPORTANT:
- USB 40Gbps Type-C ports on the back panel and M2_2 slot share PCIe 5.0 x4 bandwidth. Both run at PCIe 5.0 x2 when a device is installed in the M2_2 slot. You can switch M2_2 to PCIe 5.0 x4 in the BIOS, but this will disable the USB 40Gbps Type-C ports.
- USB 40Gbps Type-C ports on the back panel only run PCIe 4.0 x2 when install Ryzen™ 8500/ 8300 Series processors.
96gb ram is because it is the highest amount i can get at 6000mhz+ cl30- the more ram i have the more instances i can run.
As i said in my opening postI am very tempted by the HYTE Y70 T0UCH due to the touch screen but unsure how optimal it will function with the chat Applications i use (teams/slack/signal/whatsapp/telegram) and unsure if it is worth sacrificing a 420mm radiator for.
Based on talking with other people it seems useless for that purpose and not worth sacrificing the radiator for i will stick with a 4 monitor setup for now and just take up the companies offer on a work phone.

I am using a LIANLI 360 lite AIO on my 9950x3D and it does a great job.
I ran Aida 64 stress test on cpu, cup diode and GPU for @ 50 minutes and the highest I got was 81C with average @ 63 C.
So we got recommended requirements today
Intel Cpu with 24 cores or more
Os windows 11 pro
Geforce rtx with 24gb vram or more
Ram 128gb ram ddr5 6000 mhz
Storage Samsung 990 evo pro
@Champ3154 @TenPatrol any future help would be greatly appreciated
Could you please clarify whether these are the recommended specifications or the mandatory requirements?
Sorry these are the mandatory requirements
Due to the mandatory PC specifications, the 10K AUD budget may be exceeded.
Thanks for this whatvate your thoughts of using 2 kits of 2x48 sticks is it possible to achieve speeds of >6000mhz
Here’s the list of memory modules compatible with this motherboard, as published by MSI: MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI
Interestingly, the modules I linked in my earlier post use EXPO profiles (designed for AMD), but since MSI has included them on their compatibility list, they should - at least in theory - run on this motherboard (though there’s always a chance of a typo or error on the QVL). If I were sourcing RAM for an Intel build, I’d personally stick with XMP - qualified kits rather than EXPO, so you might want to bear that in mind.
