New Quest 2. ERROR! No Headset is Detected

Hello. I have a brand new Quest 2 specifically for MSFS and when I switch to VR in FS I get the above titled error message. I have confirmed the headset is connected to computer by proper cable on the Oculus app. I have watched videos on Youtube and read through many many posts here about set up. I have also read an older post on this topic from Feb of 21.
I have edited runtime file. C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-runtime\oculus_openxr_64.json

Reading some other posts here I am not sure that I need to install Open XR to make this work. I have it downloaded to computer but not installed. If I do need it, where do I extract it to?

AMD Radeon RX 5700XT
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6 core 16gb RAM
Windows 11

Thanks in advance for any assistance. Chris

In the Oculus app, go to settings → General .
Make sure that Unknown Sources is enabled and that Enable Oculus as Active is selected for open XR.

That should make it work.

Thanks. They are both selected as you described. Do I need to install Open XR?

Yes you need Open XR installed, you do not need the Open XR Dev Tools. After you install Open XR you will need to go back into oculus and makes sure the oculus is still set for the open XR runtime.

OK great. I have Open XR as a zip file. Where do I open it to?

That I am not 100% sure on, I believe I downloaded and installed it via the MS store app, but that was when VR was first implemented in game.

I am searching everything I can about installing open XR. Again thanks so much for your quick replies.

What version of Windows are you using? As of Windows 10 Version 1903, OpenXR is just part of Windows

Problem solved guys. I did find OpenXR in the Windows store. I am guessing it was already a part of Windows 11. I was missing one very important step which was to enable Quest Link. As I said I am brand new to VR! I flew in VR today! Thanks again for your help. This forum never fails to solve my issues.
