Very nice! Like the streamer and pilot scarf. Do they blow in the wind?

Course they do!

Wow ! Funtastic ! :star_struck:

This one will probably get my money!

It’s broken so much more than it’s apparently “fixed” [sigh] … but looking forward to any P-40 fixes you throw at us!

Its for the better, a few hotfixes later and all will be golden

Is there a newer version already than this: “LastUpdate”: “VERSION 1.0.2 RELEASED JUNE 12, 2021” ?I bought through the developer’s shop and never got an update info so far.

Not yet, but a new relase is currently being tested.

Yeah, any news on the update ? The plane is not very fun as of now when it comes to landing

Definitely a handful on landing. On more than one ocassion I’ve not kept my speed right and tanked it. But the challenge is what makes it fun.

I think it has changed due to SU5.I am not saying that always was like this.I maybe wrong as well.

I’ve found all taildraggers across the board have much more momentum when yawing on the ground, and because of this I have to be more gentle on the rudder.

The flight model is not part of the changes in the update. We havent noticed anything different post SU5 FDE wise.

Maybe it goes back to SU 4. I am very sure that with SU 4 something changed concerning ground handling making some taildraggers close to impossible to handle during takeoff.

Had fun yesterday flying the P40 from Portland to Pendleton, Oregon (sadly I ran out of fuel while lining up for final, and it does not like to glide at full flaps and gear down!)

I find though that the elevator is barely responding to input; I have to push the stick much further up or down than I do on any other plane to make even small adjustments in pitch.

For comparison, I mostly fly small GA planes like the Flight Design CTSL, the Diamond DA40 NG, the Cessna 172, and the Cirrus SR-22; on all of them even a tiny push or pull on my Honeycomb Alpha yoke will give me a nice pitch down or up at cruise.

Is this really correct for a fighter?

I was cruising at … maybe 30 or 35 inches MAP (not sure exactly) and 2500 RPM. Mixture at auto lean, altitudes between 2500 and 4000 feet. A smidge over 250 mph indicated.

Roll was just fine.

UPDATE: This turned out to be a controls range thing – the Honeycomb Alpha yoke has a lot more travel than the flight stick in the actual plane, and so deflections that would be comfortable for a real pilot (or someone flying with a joystick on the simulator) required huge deflections for me on the yoke.

I made a device-specific profile which mapped the full axis of the simulated plane into a partial range of the yoke’s X and Y axes, and the plane feels so much lighter and more maneuverable!

(This was easy to do with spad.next since it “remembers” the profile association for each plane, but should be doable within MSFS’s own bindings via the sensitivity settings, I think, if you manually swap profiles.)

Ah yes… running out of fuel on final in the P-40 … been there; done that.

I don’t know if the “heavy” feel of the P-40 is true to real life or not (the thing is known to be built like a tank), but it sure is fun and a difference from everything else in the sim (except maybe the Goose).

Just bought the P-40 yesterday and i’m really impressed by it. She looks and flies really nice, especially in VR.

Another great thing is the realistic Hydraulic system simulation (the RTDM Method). However, i can’t find any way to assign a button to the Hyd Pump switch.
The Flap and Gear lever can be addressed with the L:XML_Gear_Handle and L:XML_Flaps_Handle, but i couldn’t find any reference to a switch for the HYD_PUMP_BUTTON in the Interior_xml.

Is there a way to assign a button to this function? If not, could you please add it in a future update?
Having to click on buttons with your mouse in the approach phase is no fun at all…

Thanks for making this wonderful Warbird available.

Cheers,
Andre
