May I ask, where did you purchase your version of the BW 635RG?
Purchased on Orbx. No encrypted files.

I’m interested in this aircraft, I saw that the Orbx description mentions a top speed of 223 knots, but in the manual the Vne speed is 173. So what’s the actual top ground speed you can use in cruise? I’m curious how it compares with my current favorite Velicity XL which can actually cruise safely at 220 kts ground speed and sips fuel. I think this aircraft is probably more VSTOL and I image it’s fun to use at very remote small landing strips.
Is there a LittleNavmap profile downloadable somewhere?
The BW is a very nice plane/addon. Indeed it can take off and land on very short distances and the flight model seems right. The big let down was the use of the stock G3X. I bet this addon will see a raise in interest when the WT G3X will be available. It surely will for me because it is a fantastic vfr aircraft, like the Sting S4 but with way more power and cruise speed and can still fly very slow. I own the Velocity XL too. Very different airplanes. But, yes the Velocity is extremly fast, maybe too much to be real?

No. The regular Velocity-XL is a 310HP engine, this one is “Black Square’s Velocity XL is modelled after a top-end Velocity build, with an upgraded 400HP Continental TSIO-550 fitted with dual turbochargers, giving the aircraft a critical altitude of 24,000 feet and ground speeds of over 400 MPH.”
Given BS have progressed with what they have released since, their Velocity-XL still holds up well.
And, yes, the Blackwing BW 635RG is a great little versatile tourer!

Right, I read that. Just that at the time I tested the addon I did not find any video with a Velocity equiped with that kind of power. And then, there actually is at least one build with a 350 hp TSIO-550 boosted to 400 horses. Here: Velocity, Increased
Clearly the dev. used this one as a reference. So many engine configurations. Even single or twin turbo-prop and jet too. The videos I watched where, logicaly, using the standard IO-550 310 hp version. The dev. provides the modifications to do in the cfg files to tame the beast down down to 310 hp. Might be interesting to test that.
I like the Velocity although not a fan of the cockpit textures, nice but a bit cartoonish. The flight model is interesting and is a challenge on approach but can land with reasonable distance if brought close enough to its stall speed. The updates added nice things to it. Mainly AC and door sealing simulation. I wish to the dev. that this one too will see a regain of interest with the overhauled G3X, especially coupled with the GTN 750, which makes the bird IFR capable.
It is abandonware, like any Orbx aircraft, I don’t think Orbx will ever update it to the WT G3X.

I’m such a newb and a hack I don’t release my mods to anyone, but if Orbx has abandoned the Blackwing, I’ll share my WT G3X mod for the Blackwing if anyone is interested.
Everything is working great except for the GTN 750. I can seem to figure out how to make the flight plan show on both the G3X and the 750 at the same time.

Depends on what needs to be updated. Or if any update is needed at all on such a simple plane/addon. I’m not sure it would be a smart move not to make it compatible (if needed) since the product is still sold. Not to mention it got an update some months ago. And in the current state, I don’t see any need for an update. Except if the new G3X does not work with it. Time will tell.

Once SU15 is released and everybody has the new WT G3X I think this would make a lot of sense. Unsure how or if it would work for people that have the plane from the Marketplace (as in my case).
But yes, you can be sure Orbx is not going to move a finger so if you release it great for the owners.

If you are talking about the MP version I hear you. I bought the LHC Socata on the MP and I know it got several important updates which never made their way on the MP. Or at least I never got any notification and when checking I saw nothing either.
Could be useful. I hope to have a play with it myself soon

Sorry no on the center instrument panel. Wait maybe I replaced it with one of the JD mods. ■■■■ I need to check that when I get home from work.
And I don’t know how this would work with the Marketplace version. I think it would still work as long as the Marketplace version is the same as the one from Orbx.

Depending on how cynical you are, the number of developers that do exactly this is either surprising or entirely unsurprising.
Reading your comment again. You talk about the BW from Orbx. The BW does not have a GTN. Maybe with JD mod, I don’t know I don’t use it. The Velocity on the other hand does have a GTN, like some other addons/planes using a G3X. Sting S4 and RV 10 and 14 coming to mind.
