New Rudder Pedals for my Husband

I’ve been using the TFRP pedals for five years without a problem. Plus, the alternatives are pretty pricey.

Another very happy user of Turtle Beach rudder pedals. They are customisable as well.

I leave them permanently in place and use them as a foot rest as well when on pc but not in sim.

Currently on 26% discount at Amazon, selling at £185, returnable until the 31st January.

Thank you everyone for your replies - they are very much appreciated.

  1. Yea, my husband is lucky (but of course I am biased to this ). But I know it would bring him some joy. I’ve learnt my lesson previously by buying things through my own choice. Let’s just say the simplest Thrusaster joystick previously didn’t make the cut!! So I really appreciate your advice.
  2. Budget is in part to play, I know you can pay a huge amount for things. So I’m grateful for your advice on what’s worth paying for for mid-range.
  3. I have no real idea what he flies TBH. I think mainly passenger jets between various locations. He’s probably quite happy that I show no interest

I’ll let you know what he thinks.

Merry Crimbo and happy flying to all :christmas_tree::santa_claus::wrapped_gift:

Yes, they present themselves to the sim as standard HID devices, so the will work out of the box. The software just adds some tuning features.

Hi Natalie

If you are in the UK, pop down to Argos and get Thrustmaster TFRP. Under £100.00. I have them and they are fine.

I also have the Logitech G Saitek PRO Flight Rudder Pedals. I’ve never had any issues with them. They work exactly as they should, so why spend more money … I don’t have any Saitek/Logitech software installed - the fewer extras, the better MSFS runs. The drivers don’t conflict either; I’m just using the default ones that come with Windows 11.

You get what you pay for. I upgraded from the Logitechs to Virpil and the difference in precision, smoothness and feel is massive. My helicopter control particularly improved a lot with the new pedals.

The Pendular are overpriced imo compared to the other high end options available.

I realise this is Very LATE BUT… I have been simming for over 25 years. I bought my first Saitek Rudder pedals in 2003 and loved them. I replaced them once (2012 I think) with more Saitek pedals. I only recently (because I had a well paying job!) replaced those with TPR pedals (2022???). They may not be the best pedals on the market but they are certainly good enough for most people especially if your budget is tight!
I post this just in case anyone else is looking for similar advice!
