While going through the Tutorials, specifically Taxiing to Runway, if I reduce the throttle to below 1/3 and hit the brakes, the engine shuts off every time. I can use Control E to start it up again, but this should not be happening. Does not happen in XPlane 11. I am in Windows 11 using CH Products old Yoke. Also I cannot start the engine by turning it on with the magnetos set to on and the engine set to start. Anybody familiar with these problems? I have triedunplugging the USB and putting it back in, but that really was never part of these problems.
What is the status of the Mixture control?
Is it pulled out or pushed in?
@grumpishgreg What control are you using to hit the brakes? It sounds like there might be something else bound to that key/button/axis that could be working in concert with your other control settings to kill the engine.

You guessed right! Good thinking. Yes, that was the problem, for sure. And taxiing is improving now that I am not concerned with the engine dying.
Brakes are fine, thanks. It was the fuel mix was too lean.
Ya, the brakes were kind of a red herring. You want to lean out during taxi so you don’t foul the spark plugs with lead deposits from being overly rich, but lean too much and it’ll die on you (this is not consistently modeled in the sim, anyway).
You can be on the verge of being overly leaned out, but combined with a little forward motion, there might be enough RPM that it might keep the engine alive until you stop. The order in which you described it made it sound like it was tied to a control binding, but the fact you enrichened the mixture to prevent it from happening further makes me think that was the issue.
