New SR22 trim?

Hello

Love the new SR22 in SU14 update, Im just wondering where to set the trim for takeoff?

In the checklist it says set trim for takeoff, but I can’t find it, and the checklist doesn’t point me to it.

Does it not have a takeoff trim?

If memory serves the trim indicator is on the PFD, but I don’t remember seeing a TO range.

Oh yeah I saw that, but how do I set it for Take off? I couldn’t interact with it at all.

By default during cold & dark start-up, it should be set for T/O.

From the looks of it, that is just a gauge, but I’ve not noticed that before so don’t know how it looks from a 3D perspective. My guess is the sidestick moves in or out as you trim, and the gauge show you where it currently is.

Yeah, will have to adjust the trim and see if it moves on that scale, from default cabin view I don’t think you can see this trim gauge.

Presently, this is by design.

In the real SR22T, there is no aerodynamic trim surface. Instead, the trim system adds a force bias to the control stick, which changes the neutral position of the stick and thus the elevator.

However, the sim doesn’t really support that style of trim, so an equivalent aero trim is used instead. We did consider just making it an animation only thing in the control stick, but this has bad knock-on effects for VR users, for which the control stick must match the real travel exactly or it doesn’t work.

We will continue to investigate if this is possible to implement but for SU14 this is the best (and only) design we’re aware of at this time.
