New to VR and MFS2020 - Laptop Specs

I have been out of the PC building/gaming thing for a LONG time.
My current machine is a i7-920 with a GeForce 460.

I have been wanting to get into this for a while,and of course the time I decide to do it, the market is crazy.

Was thinking of grabbing this Alienware laptop, to do some generic gaming, but for MFS2020 and most likely an Oculus Quest 2.

Specs are as follows. Will I be able to enjoy VR in MFS2020 with this machine?

Any reason to splurge and grab the Valve Index over the Quest 2?

I have a 5800x and a 3090 and I can’t even enjoy it.
VR is not ready nor optimized (and the latest update destroyed it) so I would wait.
And take a Quest 2, there is no better and polyvalent headset right now.

the enemy of a laptop is always going to be heat, you can get a better desktop system
cheaper.
unless you need it for travel…i say get a desktop.

I confirm that laptop is not the best for MS2020. I had a laptop in the past, but finally i gave up and bought a desktop.
Remember that the power of CPU and GPU are capped in a laptop.
I mean that the 3070 moble clock and power are not the same as 3070 desktop, and for CPU as well.
So I doubt with a 3070 mobile you can enjoy the VR.
